Can xplore also lor, sme stuffs much cheaper. Ben thanh can "chop" on rates, like i said 100k wallet at chinatown, come to ben thanh becm 450k b4 bargain.

Hi bro,
i went chinatown, they are selling in bulk and hardly chup you bec they are bz packing and handling their bulk purchases. :s13: but i realise their price seems quite similar to Ben Thanh. Even An Dong also similar prices. Actually not much of diff if you convert into our S$, eg 20K dong difference is only <S$2 diff.

What is nice in Mekong Delta?

You get to cruised along their river, seeing ppl 'trading' their stuff in their boats. get a 'sampan' ride in their river too. then they bring you to see those villagers lifestyle and how they make their earnings from making rice paper and coconut candies. That's all.

Thanks bro.

If chinatown really nothing much then i will skip and go to Ben Thanh mkt once and for all.:o

Recently went Cholon and AnDong Plaza, what you see there are basically you can find in ben thanh. When you approach them for prices, they quoted also almost similar to what you will hear from ben thanh. Lazy to bargain for they might not be good in english as those in ben thanh, so i did all my purchases in Ben Thanh, of cos through bargaining. i notice they 'chop' the ang mos more :s13: However AnDong area, many can speak mandarin, even the roadside stalls, because saw quite alot of Taiwanese tourists there. They even sell BING LANG which you used to find in taiwan.

You may want to try walking along Nguyen Trai street (if i get the name correctly), a long stretch with ppl selling stuff (eg fashion clothing, shoes, etc) in shops or laying on the floor. :)

You can take a bus to Dalat for less than $10. Takes half a day. Go enjoy the cool weather and beautiful scenary in the countryside. See rice wine, coffee, pepper, peanut, flower plantations.

One possible way is

2 nights HCMC
2 nights Dalat
2 nights HCMC --> SG

anDong and Cholon were far cheaper back then, however due to the increasing influx of Chinese, Taiwanese, Malaysian and Singaporean Tourists there, the sellers there have followed the price from Ben Thanh, bargain like crazy if you have to, if you are lazy with bargaining, then just go to ben thanh to save time :s13:

US$540. Tour r always a ripe off. If your a first timer , pay a bit more it ok, a good guide, a good hotel, a good holiday make your trip memorable.
I spend around S$500 (excluding airfare 2 way trip only S$94) for a 5day 4night trip to HCMC. I will be travelling by JETstar on 14Oct2010

Hi, is very diff to explain to you over here. If you have a general map (sometimes you able to get it from your hotel), you will be able to see this long stretch of road. It stretches around Dist 1 to Dist 5. A very long stretch. :) I happen to chance upon this road when i was hunting for An Dong Plaza, trying to walk fm my hotel (D1) to D5... and realise is a super long walk.. but luckily along the street has shops and roadside stalls that sells clothings, bags and shoes for me to look around. Otherwise it really kills me to walk up and then down back to hotel >1hr ok... only on the very last day then i realise i can take bus to and fro AnDong from Ben Thanh mkt :s13:

One more way to get a free general map which i chance upon, is there's an information counter in their Famous Post office, there's a brochure that talks abt thier water puppet show or the counter you can buy the show tix from, there's a map in this brochure, which can comes useful if you really not able to get any map. =:p;)
