Today is my installation day for the 10G and I don't have any 10G routers/system currently.
I wonder how does the technician test the bandwidth when he is on site.

The tech will be equipped with TB4 to 10Gbps adapter. At least thats what the tech did for me when my installation last Friday.

My installation today just 10mins. The installation guy fast hand fast leg.
Got the fibrehome router too. He did a speed test and the speed was 8k+down and 7k+up.

Bottleneck by my router, now thinking to get a better router during black fri sales.

11/11 sales in TB.... if you going to buy from Amazon or any other online shops, might not have local warranty.

So far I found TB prices at least for Asus BE88u is the lowest.

Even those selling in Shoppee or lazada 500++..... they are china sellers too

Sg Asus also have sell Be88u (brought in by ban leong), but it's 600+, that one will have 3 yrs warranty. Try to see if black fri can stack vouchers and get it at 500+ or not.

I had VQ activate last Friday . As I still have not received my 10Gbps gears from TB, I did a speedtest from Asus BE88U GUI and gotten the results below.

Can the results be trusted?

Does VQ needs to enable anything at their end?

FiberHome ONT ---> BE88U

I also did an iperf out other speedtest server on the BE88U

Code:
Connecting to host speedtest.singnet.com.sg, port 5201

1) Firstly did you reboot your ONT? Try that first.

2) Double check if you enable any setings in Adaptive QoS or not. Disable them and try again.

3) Users of ROG GT-BE98 have reported that they could get >7Gbps with newer FW after disabling QoS. It has the same Broadcom BCM4916 CPU as the RT-BE88U. I was assuming that the CPU would limit the speed to below 5Gbps but I was wrong. You may have to wait for FW updates though if you still get lower value.

thanks, you provide the most constructive help! I didnt know QOS was enabled even with the options like monitoring was enabled. I disabled those and am getting around 7gbps to 8. I noticed if i disabled AI protection, my upload drop to 4-5gbps. But no impact on download. Think i'll just leave it enabled, upload doesn't matter much to me. Thanks again for your help!

4) iperf3 --> CPU may be a limitation here.

Thanks. I just checked and did 1 and 2. Same results. I am using rMerlin beta firmware. Not sure if I should flash back to official Asus FW.

Can I just do a dirty flash over rMerlin? Lazy to set it up all over again

Should not be an issue.
Tried with the latest Asus FW... still the same results. Called VQ and they mentioned that they can only directly to the ONT via 10Gbps which I no NIC.

Either I buy a sfpt+/RJ45 transceiver or a TB to 10GBase-T dongle (using my M2 mac)

It is anyway good to buy the SFP+ to 10G RJ45 modules and USB4 to 10Gbe RJ45 adapter, now that you have RT-BE88U and 10Gbps internet.

I have bought 4 SFP+ to 10G RJ45 copper modules, eight SFP+ Optic modules, 4 DAC cables and two USB 4 to 10Gbe NICs this year, along with 2.5G/10Gbe switches and a 10G capable mini PC.

10G stuff are not cheap --> I have spent like about S$1000 as part of the learning exercises this year -- wasting some money along the way since they do not work well or not suitable for my needs. And I still need to get a 10G capable WiFi 7 router (with 6GHz band).

My X150-DA1 with DAC are coming in tomorrow and hopes I can get a better speed on my desktop. Else i will hoot the tranceiver as it can easily swap into the X520 to prove to VQ there might be a problem with the ONT or their last mile.

Was offered by VQ WhatsApp team with both 3Gbps and 10 Gbps plans.....
3Gbps wifi 7 48,98 for first 12 months followed by 70.98
3Gbnps Wifi 6E 34.98 first 12 months, followed by 56.97

I am no aware VQ have whatsapp team (i might be wrong) but just be careful as it might be scam. If you are exisitng customer and looking to recontract, u can DIY int he customer portal using singpass.

On VQ website, you just have to AFK for a few minutes and the following will pop out. input your number and the sales team will contact you via WhatsApp.

Other than the 3Gbps plan, the whatsapp team provide $20 off for the first 12 months instead of $15 off for first 10 months.
