Just re-contracted, upgraded from my old 1Gbps no router plan (no longer available; paying $40 per month if I don't re-contract, which is stupid) to a 3Gbps plan. Some info here for people interested:
Was planning to switch to a different ISP, but ViewQwest told me that I won't get any of that "discount for the first 12 months" bullcrap if I recontract; it's straight up $30 every month for 2 years and first two months are waived. Works out to be $27.5 per month on average, so slightly cheaper than the secret deal last year. No FairPrice voucher this time though.
This deal is somewhat hidden on their website though; gotta specifically select non-mesh 3Gbps with the ASUS RT-BE58U router. The router is also pretty ass, with only one 2.5Gbit WAN/LAN port, one 1Gbit WAN/LAN port and three 1Gbit LAN ports, so devices connected via Ethernet won't make full use of the speeds. It's also dual-band, so no 6GHz. Wi-Fi 7 standard is, however, pretty awesome; I'm getting 1.5Gbps on download speeds (significantly faster than Ethernet). Highly recommend folks to get their own router with at least two multi-gig ports.
They also sent me a new ONT (Huawei OptixStar HN8010Ts-20), which is small and pretty. The provided CAT6e cable is comically short though; my previous setup was having the ONT right next to the termination point and running a long Cat5e cable to my router in another room, now I need to run the fibre optic patch cord to that room instead and have the ONT next to the router.
(All the stuff were sent via NinjaVan.)
The re-contract changed my static IP address though, and they forgot to update me about it. Thought I got reverted to CGNAT and had to ask tech support to make sure. For all the shortcomings that ViewQwest has, I think one thing great about them is their technical support. Blazing fast and helpful, unlike other ISPs (especially Singtel).
