I am on 7.7 plan.Is it worth to switch to 5G+ plan for double price? I do work inside hospital and travel to work on red line.

Going to be traveling soon and may be getting from calls from SG. It looks like I'm going to be charged $4.10 per minute, is there a cheaper way accept calls from SG while traveling while on Vivifi?

One thing you can do if you are hesitant on the "upgrade" is maybe ask around in the hospital, especially the sectors or area you often at, if there are users on Singtel 5G network or even better if they are on vivifi 5G as well.

If the 4g works well for you, then it maybe better as well.

But ultimately, when you are inside a building, it is up to the building owner if they want to install those cell repeater inside their building for better signal.

Yalor. Underground mrt is another paint point especially on middle part of red line.

Underground, really no choice.

I use vivifi 4g underground previously.
Usable, only wish could be faster but beggars can't be choosers :censored:

If in the hospital, the 4g usable then just remain on it. Otherwise either ask around or top up try 1-2 months

Edit - forget how vivifi system works already, so not sure if can change plan so easily

One user's comparison of Singtel 5G+ Enhanced Lite versus VIVIFI 4G. To him VIVIFI 4G is not usable for peak hours for the red line.

VIVIFI 5G will be a bit worse than Singtel 5G+ Enhanced Lite. You can always give it a try first.

Thanks xiaofan, as always. Think I’ll just go SingTel rather than playing the cat and mouse game, tired Liao. This vivifi really cmi, I think want to last 2 weeks I will faint, 2 months I think I go inside coffin Liao 🤣

Just realised I have SingTel cis option for $19.25. The enhanced lite plan. Should I just go for this?

I will say yes.

But this is just my personal opinion.

It is good to hear those using StarHub 5G network, for example, MyRepublic 5G users here.

The other thing, your VIVIFI will get 5G SA soon. You can also tahan two more months and see if got improvement or not.

Happy to report that the 19.25 plan worked rather well during this morning peak hour ride 830-9. I was able to listen to radio, read news article, Reddit, received WA. Connection broke between Bishan to Braddel which require a manual trigger to restart radio. Just leaving orchard, connection went down for like 10 secs but doesn’t require manual restart (it auto connect back).

these are vast majority improvements than compared to vivifi where I could not do any one of those single item above.

Before the arrival of 5G. 4G was the ultimate over 3G, before the shutdown of 3G end 2024. Still a 4G user with a cheaper plan, despite a lower speed, but adequate.
ok opnions flips 2 sides, usage pattern for internet content are different from last time

already last day of 2025! VIVIFI is still on NSA, not SA. Last time said will change all singtel MNVO to SA by 2025 end?

I guess it won't happen for another few months

now this date got removed from website.

singtel is always slow. There 3G is still running, despite scheduled phase out in Jul 2024

The 31-Dec-2025 date is from an IMDA directive. But I believe it is just a target date and not a must-meet deadline.

Singtel 5G+ has two meanings.
1) With added 700 MHz band, better coverage
2) 5G SA

Singtel and Singtel MVNOs 5G

1. SingTel itself has extended the free 5G+ SIM Card upgrade to 31-Jan-2026 for both postpaid and prepaid customers. For prepaid they are organizing roadshows.

2. CMLink 5G+ FAQ: target to roll out in Dec 2025.

3. Zym: no detailed date
https://zym.sg/zym-mobile-5g/

4. Zero1: no detailed date
https://zero.zero1.sg/announcement/zero1-5g-plus/

5. VIVIFI 5G+ page still says 31-Dec-2025.

My phone only supports 5G (NSA). Can my mobile plan remain on 5G (NSA)?
No. Our 5G NSA network will be retired by 31 December 2025. Your phone will fallback to use 4G network.

6. Gomo 5G+: they may focus on the 700 MHz spectrum roll out and says 5G+ is already provisioned since 7 Feb 2025.
https://www.gomo.sg/5g

7. Singtel heya and the replacement Singtel hi! postpaid plans do not have 5G.

Yes, if considering singtel’s saying that 700MHz is called 5G+, then it is already done. My vivifi plan can already connect to n28 through NSA. My other prepaid also can.

But I see at least some MVNOs are calling both SA and n28 combined are called 5G+. For example that Zero1 page says “To enjoy Zero1 5G+, you'll need a 5G Standalone-compatible SIM card or eSIM.”

just considering 700MHz, it is already done. But SA not yet for MVNOs

By right Singtel 5G+ is supposed to mean both 5G SA and 700MHz band.

And the original target is to get it done by 31-Dec-2025. However, this target cannot be met now and I beleive it will be pushed out to Q1 2026, say by end of 31-March-2026.

Update from Zym thread. Looks like SingTel and IMDA move the target date to Q1 2026 for 5G NSA shutdown.

ZYM has updated its 5G+ FAQ:

According to IMDA’s coverage targets, the two initial nationwide 5G SA networks are required to achieve 95% outdoor coverage by the end of Q1 2026 (for Singtel). This coverage applies to all Singtel MVNOs, including ZYM Mobile.

Good update.

Again this is a "target", just like the previous 31-Dec-2025 date. But I hope this time they can achieve it.

5G SA network uses 5G Radio Access Network and 5G Core Network.

5G NSA network uses 5G Radio Access Network and 4G Core Network.

Singtel is probably meeting the 95% coverage target for the Radio Access Network but may not be ready on the 5G Core Network side (need to upgrade).

good good, hope they can achieve it

main focus should be enable SA for all MVNOs. No rush to close NSA.
As one tower antenna can do both SA and NSA at the same time, no extra cost. Keeping NSA make it easier for international roamers
