Good point.

Maybe I am privileged. I usually use my fixed line to call banks and hospitals that take very long to answer. Partly to make sure I don't exceed talktime. Partly because I need to access the calender on the phone and I don't like to toggle.
Agree... holding the phone to my head gives me a headache so I prefer land line to call banks and health institutions where you have to wait...

Anyone has the opportunity to use the Vivifi Go Roaming Pack? I'm actually in Malaysia and I bought the 1 GB 7 days Malaysia pack... it expires tomorrow and I still have 750 MB left... anyone knows if the data pack expires at the time you purchase the pack or it simply expires at 2359 the day before?

I check my account and look at the Roaming Usage panel - it only says expires tomorrow but doesn't give a time... today is Sunday so I guess I won't get a quick answer from Vivifi... thought I check here in case anyone has experience...

Thanks!

EDIT: The Vivifi Help Page says this -

When will VIVIFI Go Data Roam Plan expire?

VIVIFI Go Data Roam Plan will be activated immediately upon purchase.

It will expire according to the validity specified for the plan.

For example, if you have purchased VIVIFI Go - MYS, it will expire in 7 days (including the day of purchase).

Would I be correct to assume the roaming data pack will expire at 00:00 of the 8th day? And not at the time I purchased the data pack on the first day (04:00)?

Everytime I see questions on volte I am amazed so many people multitask ?
isn't VOTLE more than just multitasking?

i thought the call quality aspect might be important enough, especially for those doing self employed business such as agents

The voice call quality can be quite different. The muffled voice of yesterdecade is much less likely when there's VoLTE on both sides. No, not even HD Voice required, but of course it's even clearer with HD / FHD Voice support.

Sometimes I gave up repeating what I was saying when calling via SingTel 3G, I told the other party to give me a min, I call again via M1 / SIMBA 4G (VoLTE). No, it's not the device's issue, because I'm calling from the same device, just using the another SIM slot to call.

Likewise, from feedback the voice quality on my Singtel line is clearer than on my Vivifi line (without VoLTE).

But yes, I do also check information on the go while with clients, so it is a bit annoying on my work phone. I end up having to trap the phone between my ear and shoulder while referencing on my personal phone instead.

Thing is, with clients, it's just good practise not to whip out another phone in front of them so it's a bit dicey when I'm with other clients.

It improves the receiving side audio quality even if they don't have HD/VoLTE? I was under the impression that both sides have to support the lowest common denominator to make any difference.

Both VoLTE calls, even though on different network operators (thus no HD Voice), still resulted in clearer voice call quality. Not significant, but still noticeable.

It's likely due to the fact that the smartphone makers are focusing their RF designs based on LTE/5GNR, not WCDMA/GSM.

If there's HD Voice, it's much better still.

this is 4G? -> HD / FHD Voice

Jialat, means cannot use singtel MNVO for voice call

those doing agent business should avoid

StarHub do support HD Voice on their 3G network. VoLTE version is still better afaik.
SingTel and M1 didn't implement, and went straight to requiring it on LTE network.

Those agents probably sign under CIS anyway, they probably won't care about MVNOs since most don't provide 10k mins per month.
At most they sign is for personal use nia

See the quote above.

Not say terrible, it's likely to be ok when in a decently quiet environment, but in crowded places the noise suppression is much lesser and therefore way more noise crept into the voice call compared to VoLTE imo.

Doesn't sound that bad thankfully.

For porting over a number to Vivifi, do I have to first do the number change, then the number porting?

Or just number porting is enough?
