I decided to activate the Sim card today. The activation process felt rather smooth. Although I faced a road block trying to scan the Sim card. It took me like 3 tries, there's no manual input, just hope that the system can capture the barcode using the phone's camera. I have to enable desktop mode on chrome to get the scanner working properly. Turns out I was placing the Sim card too close to my camera.

Why ah? Cant port out without getting charged another month after 1 month + abit?
Yes. I was also charged. Because it's two billing cycle. Not like zym. For vivifi, If you port in mid sep, 1st billing cycle is mid sep to end sep PLUS 1st oct to end oct and 1st Nov to end Nov is 2nd cycle. Basically you have to pay 2 months + Abit if you wanna port out after porting in. Which is why I don't recommend them for short term use or to test it out.

Port in went smoothly and was same day done. My simba line went offline at 11pm and is back up and running at 1230am.

But their app is something else.... I always end up in this landing page. I always have to manually refresh the page for it to work.

Anyone here move from vibe 5g+ to roam value?

I feel the 5g+ no longer worth it and want to go back to roam value

Interesting. So you feel the slowness of SingTel 5G network as reported by SingTel MNO and MVNO users, right?

After the shutdown of 5G NSA network and moving all the MVNO 5G plans to 5G SA, indeed SingTel 5G network may be congested.

SingTel 5G Radio Access network should still be okay and improved because of the widely deployment of 700 MHz band, but congestion on the 5G core network may be the issue.

Looks like many M1 Maxx customers are trying to port out to Zym/Zero1 recently (and maybe VIVIFI and CMLink as well). And these "M1 Maxx" customers may not really be true M1 Maxx customers, but rather existing Singtel MNO/MVNO customers who use M1 Maxx as an interim plan to go and them jump back to the the other Singtel MVNO (especially Zero1 and Zym) to enjoy non-Singtel-network port-in offer.

Reference from Zym and Zero1 thread.

Delays on Port-In Requests from M1: We are currently experiencing a very high volume of port-in requests from the M1 network. Due to daily inter-telco processing quotas between operators, some port-in requests are taking longer than usual to process. While many transfers complete sooner, completion may take up to 7 business days in certain cases. Please rest assured that our team is actively working behind the scenes with partner networks to clear the backlog and expedite your transfer as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this time.

Due to a surge in port-in requests and daily inter-telco processing limits, some incoming line transfers are currently taking longer than expected—up to 7 business days or longer in certain cases.

Please be assured that our team is actively monitoring and expediting these transfers behind the scenes. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

My work line had a 15-day delay from CL to ZYM. Yeah, I had a flood of over 30 SMSes.

I am not sure how Singtel 5g network was like in the past as compared to now as I only moved from 4g to 5g last month ie roam value to vibe 5g+ as I wanted to try out 5g. But I feel that 4g and 5g no difference. And yes at times I felt that 5g didn't load my news feed fast enough but overall it's no biggie to me. I just don't like how my battery consumption is higher on my OnePlus 13r as compared to just 4g. So I am thinking of just reverting back to roam value and saving that couple of bucks per month instead

I see. If your main concern is battery life and you have okay 4G connection, why not?

I tested Singtel hi! 4G legacy plan (S$10 port-in offer, new user price at S$12) previously and I did not like it. Maxx 5G, CL5G and Starhub Prepaid S 5G were better. Basically my tests show that any non-SIMBA 5G plan is better than any 4G plan.

But the above is just my own experience.

Quite some users report that SingTel 4G is better than SingTel 5G for Underground MRT stations.

SingTel 5G network may already be congested after SingTel MVNOs moving from 5G NSA to 5G SA and then the shutdown of 5G NSA network.

Indeed quite some Singtel MVNO users and a few SingTel MNO users complained about degrading performance after April 2026. Some SingTel MVNO users claim to have better user experiences if switching to 4G in some use cases like underground MRT stations.

Personally I do not have issues with EWL underground MRT stations but I do have issues with NSL underground MRT stations, with my limited testing. I commute daily to work on public bus so I only take trains during peak hours very occasionally.

For NSL underground MRT stations the issue is there even for non peak hours. Interestingly my StarHub Prepaid S legacy 5G line performs better in this case.

In the end I am using both SingTel S$15.28 line and StarHub Prepaid S legacy 5G line. So far this combination is not bad for me.

both NSL and EWL i dont have issue, EWL from boonlay to lavender, NSL from raffles to amk, but im using 4g instead of 5g.

Thanks for the reports. Some SingTel MVNO users also claim 4G is better than 5G in this case.

Another user thinks Starhub 5G Lite plan is better but it is at S$22.4 per month now with Passion Card offer (usual price at S$28 per month).

Just chiming in to say that I ported another SIMBA line to Starhub for the PAssion Card Lite promo, got it for about 23 bucks a month and the port in was very smoothly done within the weekday

So far these Starhub 5G Lite lines are more stable than Singtel 5G lines for some reason

Yeah, last year during during my daily commute to/from office in Changi via DTL, can get consistently good Singtel connection

But from July this year, kept getting bad connection (e.g. web pages mysteriously not loading) and also my iPad Pro M1 showing that it is a 4G line rather than 5G

Both Singtel lines are the 15 dollar plan btw, not the Enhanced stuff

I did this speed test at Aft Chong pang CC bus stop, I found the speeds at the yishun west area (blk101) have really poor for 4g connectivity, I have to often rely on its 5g network which seem to have fewer congestion. Is this a common occurance on ST MVNOs? 😂 I feel like simba could already match the 4g speeds I'm getting.
