tv comes with free wallmount within 3 months, contemplating whether i shld go for the mount or not. anyone can help with the queries?

1) what type of wall mount does BD or LG give? Is the free wallmount given by BD (compatible type) or LG specific? (this will help in deciding to go for wallmount considering the cost of the wallmount and type since its given free)

2) anyone experience any damage to wall or other things while installation by the BD or LG guys?

3) is it still relatively easy to access the back panel of the LG LH50 after mounting?

4) any heat dissipation issues since panel is mounted close to wall? or can adjust the space between back panel and wall?

is usally from queenie, not specific. Not very nice but serves it's purpose.

2) anyone experience any damage to wall or other things while installation by the BD or LG guys? These are sub-contractors. They are ok ...but if u super "niao" then they are not the ppl then this is subjective some are good some very rough.

not sure where the input panel is located for this model but like most LCD wall mounted this is a problem. But no issue just unhook then wire lor...u will not be doing this often. Once in a blue moon. need 2 ppl minimum for a 50" some bracket can swivel out but it will cost u at least $300.
So think carefully of the cables required before mounting and give more allowance for cables so the tv can easily be removed. I have encountered once the contractor made the cables nice nice no slack but after unhooking the TV i have only less than 1cm of extra cables cannot even shift position!

as long as u follow the recommendations by the manufacturer u are fine. LCD ok but plasma got to be more careful cos is much hotter and they have fans inside. Is good to give more allowance so cooler = tv last longer

My 42" plasma is wall mount and BD contractor is professional, nothinge much to clean up after they drill and fixed the bracket. Align very well.

The wall bracket allows one to tilt up and down, clearance fr wall is more than enough to connect all cables with ease.

Using my plasma as a temporary photo frame cos my CRT is dying but still kicking.

just wondering if anyone has done it and has counter measures to recommend

Aircon normally leaks from one side. So if you mount the TV away from the side it leaks (if possible), then may be ok. The other way is to put a shelf above the TV, but make sure it is high enough according to the TV clearance requirement.

thx for the reply buddy, cant move away from that size as my aircon's already at the center.. but could give the shelving method a try, like those seamless shelves from ikea..

mind if i ask what is the tv clearance requirement? were you referring to clearance like 60cm apart from lcd and aircon and in this scenario, i would be planning 60cm between tv and shelve and 30 cm apart between shelf and aircon..

how does that sound?

thanks in advanced..

Hi Guys. I intend to buy a 46" or 50" tv and wall mount. I have a false wall around 3" thick but made of gypsum board. obviously cant hang on it but behind it I have a solid plywood.
Can I still hang the tv.. will a flat wallmount do or do I need to go for a articulate model? Thanks

hi guys, when u DIY ur wall mount u need to factor in the alignment of the tv panel, ie. ur optimum viewing angle, is it parallel to floor level, most importantly ur drilling skills...if u guys don't wanna get ur hands dirty and go thru' the hassle of DIY, pm me

those that got "free" wallmount within 2 or 3 mths upon purchasing ur tv, can u get them to deliver the mount first then ownself mount instead of letting them mount since the wallmount shld be already factored in the sellin price of the TV, nothing is realy "free" and technically speaking the mount has already been paid for by u

I saw the palladine mount for max 50" or 60kg selling at 99 bucks. It can tilt +\- 15 deg vertical n horizontally can pull out quite a lot.
