i would hesitate to use the word "new" one. it's a replacement yes and it is likely going to be a refurbished unit.

But you are right, you can opt to pay $98 for a replacement and you can even do so via Express Replacement without going in store. But this practice is not an official Apple policy, so you will find that the apple store might be a little averse to openly publicising it. and they will do it in "air quotes"
It’s brand new if it’s Titanium or Hermes model

Thanks. I bought mine nov last month. So I have 26 days more to get Apple care. Never bought one before so have to clarify some doubts before I buy it. Let’s say if nothing happens to my watch, battery life also not below 80%, but still feel exchanging for a new one, can I do that ? Even if I choose to pay the $98?

rebubished .. which is good enough, it looks new anyway.

I am sorry. I mean my apple WATCH is then connected to a hotspot (another phone, or my office....).

I have edited my post
Hi rider83, I'm using apple watch s7 GPS only, I just tried this: Disconnect WiFi in my iphone, just connect to 4G data, then I walk away from my phone for more than 15m (pretty sure the bluetooth is disconnected) but apple watch still connected to WiFi. I can still receive messages, but I'm unable to receive or make a call. I suspect for a call you probably need to connect to same WiFi, not 100% sure yet

Hi, just to double check.
If mine is the hermes model, there are some chips around the watch dial.
I can pay $118 since mine is the hermes edition to get it replaced? It will be NEW instead of refurbished?
Mine warranty ends 2024 with applecare, if I get it replace n pay $118 in 2023 or before my warranty ends, I will get the new replacement Apple watch 6 or 7 hermes edition? Because that will be few years away, does Apple still have Hermes applewatch 6 in stocks? Most likely it will be 8 or 9 already.

I’m also curious on what circumstances do Apple allow for the replacement.

if no crack no chips but got scratches can replace ?

anyone know how to make apple watch alert me (vibe), when I'm away from my iphone? currently only show the disconnected icon, if I don't look at my watch, I won't know it's disconnected. Thank you

If you’re on cellular model, no issue as cellular mode will kick in once disconnected from phone.

no, I'm only on GPS model, I don't need anything, I just want my apple watch to vibrate when disconnected from my iphone, so in case I left my phone at home, I know it immediately, Instead of reach office then back to take my phone again 😅

I don’t think that’s possible as once disconnected from your phone on the GPS-only model, you might not be able to receive anything.

But yet, I’m using cellular Apple Watches since Series 3 so prior to that, I only receive notifications whenever connected to phone.

I think u got me wrong, I don't need to receive anything, I just need my watch to vibrate when bluetooth disconnected, just like my powerwatch 2, it will notify me and vibrate for 1 second 😅

OK so I indeed misinterpreted. Apple Watch doesn't notify you when it's disconnected from your.phone, just that indicator as you mentioned.
