The continuously variable water temp knob makes it convenient to find the ideal water temp.

As for all Instant water heaters, the water flow at normal water pressure needs to be kept low enough to make the water super hot. If you only need warm or medium hot water, it is fine.

DC pump is only good for compensating the low water pressure. For my normal HDB (even high floor), the water pressure was strong enough and the DC pump only made the water colder (faster flow = colder water).

The rain shower with diverter is practically useless: too much heat losses along the way such that the water coming out even at max temp setting, is slightly warm. I found it necessary to directly connect the handheld shower to the heater outlet with a single insulated hose (all provided). If I need "rain shower", hang the handheld shower high up on a wall mount holder (buy your own)... it is somewhat close experience.

In conclusion, save your money by buying the version without rainshower and without DC pump: Protek (analog) or Queenston (digital) or lower version.
I haven't tried the Queenston which has the digital thermostatic control.

As for electric bill, all instant water heaters work as intended... no one is better at saving electricity.
For family of 3 or less taking shower only once or twice a day, instant water heater is better than a single tank water heater.

I think only if you have 5 or more ppl, then a tank (storage) based water heater is better.

I have one and for some reason the water temp doesn't seem want to go above 38 degrees, if I set temps over 38, it starts blinking which I'm assuming it means it can't get to the assigned temperature.

Is the water tank size judge by how many person using it ?
This is because I am confused how many litre should I get when HIP. The previous plumber bought for me a very big size water tank . If I am not wrong about 30 to 35 litre . Then I changed another plumber and he happened to see the water tank and asked me why I get so big one. Waste electricity 🙄

To be more precise, how many baths per day? I don't think it is waste as long as your usage fits it.

3 ppl x 2 baths per day = 6 baths per day.
5 ppl x 1 bath per day = 5 baths per day.
5 ppl x 2 bath per day = 10 baths per day.

The waste electricity part is because of the time in between baths, when the storage water heater is not needed (either switch off but need to reheat, or keep it on all the time).

Also short standing shower baths, vs long soaking water tub baths, how hot... also makes a difference.

My wife maxes out my instant water heater all settings (temp, volume etc) and prefers strong water flow in the hotel. I calculated her rate of hot water usage: certainly drain the 15 litre hot water tank completely in 1 shower.

On the other hand, I don't like such hot water, and I would not ever use 15 litres of hot water in a single session.

If I were to buy storage water heater, it will have to be bigger than 15litres.

That will be in my next new house (in the future).

Furthermore, I should mention, the peak current in HDB is 40A. The aircon use 5A to 10A continuous (startup up to 15A), the instant water heater already use 15A. You can't use two instant water heater at max temp at the same time as aircon. The circuit breaker will trip.

Hi I have recently installed an 707 Kingston water heater with pump control and the water pressure is very weak. Mine is an old hub flat. Turns the pump control to max also does not help much and make a lot of noise. This also affect the water pressure of other washroom. Previously I am using rubine and have no issue but with no pump control. Will it help if I get a plumber to check the issue or should I change the water heater again with no pump control?

There is only so much additional pressure the pump can provide, Its probably due to really very low pressure in your unit, or could also be an issue with the shower head. Noise wise, my guess is the heater is using AC pump and not DC.

Storage heater is better option to deal with low pressure.

How much is aos. Heard very good reviews
I bought the 40Litre 1 gen at $485 at the recent lazada sale and that was not included installation. My reno contractor helped me to install. This was a one to one replacement as the same model was damaged during the reno. I have been using since 2019.

It is good, I am using it as well. But they are not cheap.

https://www.aosbath.com/product/digital-heater-40-lit/

The hot water is pretty instant if you select "Single" mode instead of Standard / Multi. Single just heat up half tank of water so you don't waste electricity heating up the whole tank if you are the only one showering with hot water.

Standard heats up the entire tank, and Multi heats up the entire tank and continuously to support 2 bathroom using concurrently (more of an overkill but good to have).

You can adjust the temperature also, as low as 40-45, or as high as 55-60. Depending how hot you want the water to be and how much mixing ratio you want. More hot water means dilute more with cold water and can last longer but electricity goes up. Or lower temp hot water at 40-45 degrees but use a higher ratio of hot to cold water.

It's a balancing act, whatever suits your needs. I set at 45 degrees Single mode and save electricity that way.

I repeat, for single use, the hot water is almost instant. Maybe just need to wait 1-2mins to heat from 30+ degrees to 40 degrees, and you can turn to maximum hot and get the newly warmed up hot water to start your shower.
