Hi all,

Newbie question - I believe this one probably answered but I just wanna confirm.
I'm using the central instant heater from Benneton, almost 9 years already. Was thinking of replacing the shower head set and was asking..can it support rain shower or not?

The shower head set from taobao shows it needs 0.2 - 0.6 MPA for the..uh. LED to work, but not sure about the rain shower part and also..will the water pressure be able to support a rain shower? Wouldn't be dripping only bah?
only you can assess what water pressure your home has. if it's a HDB, it is unlikely that your water pressure is even 0.2MPa.

The 0.2MPa /2 bars is from the entry outside? or at the endpoint (ie, showerhead).

Thought of buying water pressure gauge to measure at the showerhead part. But all the gauges I see on Shopee/other websites are 1/4". Our showerheads are 0.5". And I couldn't find an adaptor that converts 1/2" M to 1/4" female so that can put in the gauge. Any ideas? haha.

Quick check, if my current shower head is 10cm in diameter, and say the new rainshower head is 20cm.

Effectively the area is 78.5cm² vs 314.16cm² , so about 4 times larger.
It does mean that the pressure at the showerhead side will be 4 times smaller right? Or to put it in another way, the water flow rate currently will be spread over 4 times the area, so can visualize it as 4 times less strong?

you don't get it doesn't mean you have to be close-minded about it. there are people who enjoy a rainshower, and people who don't.

My Joven storage heater just kaput. Slight leaking likely from tank and tripped my circuit. Any idea the costs for repair or to change? Standard setup in toilet.

Rain shower is NOT supposed to be strong. Its supposed to be gentle hence the name. Its like standing out under the rain.

You want strong spray then wait till some company makes a new system called car wash shower. That one confirm hammer you till you climax 😂

Shower head may play a difference but from my own experience heater type is the deal breaker. Instant heater even with so called “booster” the water pressure mostly CMI. Go for storage heater. Those generally have stronger water pressure.

That was also what I didn’t understand before I got rainshowers.

Shower jiu shower. Why need a bigger shower head? Both work what.

It sure doesn’t make a dramatic difference in the way you shower, but I don’t have to hold the shower head throughout my shower when I am using a rain shower or position it in such a way that it targets the spot I want it to wash.

When I feel like standing in the shower for a few minutes, a rain shower can give me the immersion. A smaller shower head cannot.

It’s like having digital locks. Use keys also can, but it gives you a sense of convenience and luxury that you would like to have after you have tried it.

Around 7 years old. Sensed slight dripping for about 1 month before it finally short circuited.
My Ariston was almost 10 years. Was also leaking. But plumber said cannot repair. So got to change the whole thing. I paid more than $600 for Joven storage heater and installation.

I checked on Shopee, might be able to get cheaper. But dunno how much they charge for installation.

I paid $450 for mine all in. Found number online, checked reviews and called in plumber.

Yah, Shopee is cheaper, they sell you the heater and tie up with a plumber to come to fix for you on separate charge. Ard $100-$150 depends.

My one place it at the laundry there, I "kay kiang" to mount the electric wire with tap on the tank surface, it burnt and my house tripped few weeks ago. The technician help to redo the wiring, and check the heater still functioning. So we still using it after the incident

Actually the wiring was done since day 1, and it just recently trip so I guess it accumulated with times, there's NO leakage on the water tank so should be fine with it.
