We dont need to top up rmb cash right? The payment will be deducted from the youtrip or whatever card you linked to.

Anyway I linked trust card to both alipay and wechat. Used alipay to pay for ctrip and metro tickets no issues but when I tried to use wechat pay to pay a deposit for a restaurant, trust flagged it as high risk transaction and blocked it despite me performing 2fa and live chat with cso

Can we test out the Wechat pay or Alipay in Malaysia? Some bro mentioned that we cannot pay using Wechat or Alipay in Singapore, Can we do so in Malaysia. If there is any hiccup, we still can fix it before going to China.

The Youtrip app does not cover RMB or MYR, can also try to top up the wallet while you are in Malaysia.

no need to be so paranoid. so many have tested and confirmed that their WeChat and Alipay work in China.

i have top up my YouTrip wallet when I was in China last month. No issue also.

if really so scared, just bring cash.

Wechat didn't work for me. I thot I set up everything in SG but when I am trying to make my first payment in china, I am asked to validate my id/passport. I did it straight away and was prompted that the approval takes up to 3 days. Now is 4th day but no news.

Ali pay on the other hand is ready for all payment. (merchant, train etc).

My suggestion, use ali.

I just did it for both Wechat pay and Alipay approval less than 30 mins . They will send a message in Chinese that is approved.

Tested all the functions already working fine
