Hi guys, anyone tried seamless bespoke's online exclusive made to measure trousers programme?

I thought of giving it a go for the $148 fabrics, but want to get some opinions about their product quality before deciding to go with it.
Price point is good. I'm extremely tempted myself but have more clothes than I know what to do with.

Online MTM can be good enough if you invest the time to figure out your measurements! Not every bespoke first commission will turn out well and not many will appreciate the price point for the fit achieved anyway.

Hello there! I'm looking for a set of suit + shirt made! This will be for my wedding on 13 May so the lead time is REALLY short so would appreciate if any bros here can help me!

To give more context, I have never ever bought a suit before so zero knowledge there but my wedding will be al fresco style in the evening and there will be a lot of dancing so I'm probably looking at something that's more breathable and light. No need patterns, can be plain overall. I LOVE kay-jen's aesthetics, especially their pants so I reached out to him and the latest he can get the suit ready is in July, so that's totally out.

TLDR - Al freso style wedding on 13 may, need suit + shirt, preferably breathable. Going for a little more casual look with no ties.

Thanks!

6 weeks is a pretty tight timeline. I wish you all the best for your big day!

Suggest you email or IG message the tailors that fall within your budget on their capacity to complete in 4-5 weeks. If you want breathable, can go for navy linen or full wool fabric with half or quarter lining. This may be more doable for tailors with in-house or local production like seamless bespoke, yeossal, the cutting room, the suited label, Ehkay, Este Bartin, Dylan, CYC or The Prestigious.

From my understanding, half canvassed suit quality need about 40 hrs while full canvassed suit need about 60 hr so it's doable, but depends on the capacity because tailors have good business now, even though it's approaching non peak season

Are they available from SG? Or need to go to tailor to check?
Bunches need to go tailor to see because they are the tool for tailor to sell their services. For tailors, they have to made certain sales or pay to get the latest bunches. In recent years, due to inflation and sustainability focus in Europe, the brands are very selective on the. Number of bunches that they produce and give out to agents.

I can't post the URL, but if you Google "Solbiati Frescolino", you'd see a number of images of the swatch cards. They look much smoother than 100% linens, so it won't appear overly casual.

But the feel of the fabric though... you gotta handle the fabric to fully appreciate the magic!

Can I buy the materials then bring to my tailor? Or this is available for some tailors only?

Not all tailors accept orders using the client's own fabric... it usually depends on whether you have a good relationship with him. Solbiati fabrics are considered rather high-end, so it should be available at the more up-market tailors.

It's 100% natural dri-fit for tailoring!

The tailors also sometimes rely on fabric sales to make some money so please support them!

From what I'm told - they do make a very small percentage of profit from the fabrics, but it's not substantial at all. The main reason why they frown upon using client's own fabric is because it'll be tricky if issues/errors arise from order and extra fabric needs to be purchased (eg. to change a shirt collar or cuffs, add on pocket etc).

Where will they purchase this extra fabric from? How much do they have to refund the client? How much is the fabric per meter (what if the client is an a$$ and wants to rip them off by saying it's $1000/meter lol)? It's all just very troublesome so sometimes they'd rather refuse the order altogether.

This is true, many local factories do not make suits outside house fabrics or their own sources because if there is an error, may have to compensate the entire fabric, which can be $1000 or more, and they only earn $4000 a month.

On the other hand, tailors also make money off fabrics, but not much because the wholesaler gets a big cut too. Some tailors like Common Suits and The Suited Label do offer C.M.T, but the prices are the same as prices using similar fabric bought from them to protect their margins.

As I sell fabrics, sometimes people ask me if they can buy 1m of a particular fabric, probably because tailor made an error

It is also true that C.M.T is not possible for first timer, but possible for loyal regular customers. Not so much because of good relationship, but because the tailor already has your measurements and confident of not making an error since the tailor would have given you basted fittings, muslin fittings etc and so there is a higher confidence level of making a suit that fits well without trial and error. Also, since tailor has your measurements, there is less effort needed for taking measurements and repeated fittings (opportunity cost of time), so time is money, tailor can make reduced profits but spend less time. There are some reputable tailors who accept this, but I shall not name them.

Lastly it depends on their capacity, during COVID, almost every tailor was suffering and if you ask them to CMT, they would gladly accept to have some work. Now demand is rising , they can earn more selling fabrics and no capacity to take on more orders, why accept a CMT job for little profit but the same effort? Just for info, during COVID, I could CMT full canvassed suit at Sakal for $500, now the price has increased to $900.

Having said that, only the middle class try to save and get the best value. The director who makes $300k a year probably don't think much of spending $3k on a suit. To them, 1 hr = $100, they wouldn't spend their precious time to source fabrics separately but outsource to the tailor for their rightful fee. However, for middle class, CMT can save 30-50% if done properly
