i've collected my shirt from http://thehouseofgentlemen.blogspot.com/
won't really comment much yet... cos i've yet to wash the shirt, and this is my first day wearing
i will GPGT sometime during the weekend
fitting wise... pretty good i would say... (maybe partly cos i was wearing a tailored shirt when taking measurements and i told him how i wanted to "tweak" the cutting)
only thing is... i find the chest area a TAD too fitting.. would have been better if it was a quarter to half inch looser
hopefully it won't shrink after washing and make the chest even tighter (he said it wouldn't though)
overall, pretty pleased with the shirt... will post more pros or flaws as i discover them

service wise, there are pros and cons...
Pros
1: for those ppl looking for more trendy stuff, he's willing to play around to make the shirt more trendy(thats his vision anyway... tailoring more casual/trendy shirts)
2: he can go to your doorstep
3: having no shop front, being a 1 man show... i guess his pricing should be relatively cheaper for similar fabrics outside (i hope so)
Cons
1: having no shopfront, u have to make appmt, can't just walk into the shop as and when u like to both make and collect your shirt
2: he doesn't carry much floral fabrics.. for now, buttons wise also quite limited.

That's good, now you would have a very well defined chest in that shirt.

coz of the crumpled patch ard that "area"?:p

I think maybe is coz of the way he was standing when taking that pic bah.

Whatsmore I think thats probably jeans or khaki rather than normal pants.

icyspawn: Maybe u will like to take a pic of the fabric too? Coz really from that pic cant tell much besides your brown bottoms and white belt...

The base color is brown, maroon or red???

I do like the use of the different fabric for the insides. :)

Cant wait to receive call from Dreamland.:D

base colour is maroon

ALL my shirts have different fabric inside the collar and the inner cuff. even for my business shirts... this way, should i need to wear a tie u won't see that the inside is more casual... on fridays or when i'm out, i sometimes fold sleeves to show the inner cuff as well ;)

those fabrics used inside are usually more of leftover cloth though... i usually for recommendations with what will match the main fabric and then i choose from there.
however, for this particular shirt, he didn't have any samples to show... so i just told him to choose something black... nv expected it to be so colourful though... would have actually prefered it to be less colourful =:p

I think your shirt is much better than my tailored shirts from Golden landmark leh haha

maybe next time i will find him liao..

He updated his blog , cant wait for his catalogue & pricing

as u can see, thats where the sleeves should end... btw that pic was taken with the cuffs unbuttoned so the sleeves are exactly that length.
the shoulder also ends at both ends of my shoulder blades and does not extend to my upper arms
the chest/waist area is fitted too, but u can get it slightly looser up to your preference but of course not too baggy

I didn't like the shirt and trousers I made at CYC. Think they were too conservative and so it was cut way too big - even after alteration it was still cut too big. What I did like was the range of shirting fabrics from Thomas Mason which I haven't seen elsewhere.

Another place that has not been mentioned in this thread is <http://www.hst.com.sg/>. The shop is at Katong Shopping Centre - made my first decent shirt there. The Egyptian cotton range they carry is largely from Fila. My shirt from them is still holding up ok even though it's been about 3-4 years of regular wear. Cannot recall the price but I think about S$120-140 range.

I go to Eric (Personality) these days. Normally from the mid-range Huberross range of materials - about S$150-170 from the Green and Blue books. Most of my stuff are from him. No complains. The shirts which are about 2years old are still wearing well. Most times he will remove the loose threads unless the shop is very crowded then i won't want to wait anyways. Also, I never had any loosely sewn trousers cuffs. They are all sewn properly.

For first time customers, I think it's always best to go at a time when it's not crowded. like weekday afternoons (which I normally do these days). Then the tailor will have time to chat with you and find out more about what you want. Also, the measurements will not be taken in a rush. Another thing to do is to wear something you already like so that they know what sort of cut you like.

I have never been to Men's Tradition, but a colleague goes there. From her feedback, Daniel likes certain styles and he doesn't always do what you tell him to do. Also, consistency is an issue because even though it's supposed to be from the same measurements, the shirts from the different batches fit differently. However, it's quite a bit cheaper than Personality for the same fabrics.

I think i like the chest & waist area to be slight looser.. so that when i sit down, it looks good too.. If too fitting, all the fats will show when i sit down one hahaha

nice tailor ,, think next time, i will look for him to try out =D

i've just collected my shirt from Joe's
tried it out at the shop seems quite ok... will go home and try again though
everything seems ok except for the cuffs... which are quite long. looks funny to me but the lady says it's more fashionable.... dunno maybe i'm just not used to it... will look at it again... the lady did promise me that she will change it for me after CNY if i don't like it though

dang... very disappointed with the cuffs from Joe's
shirt overall seems to fit very well... except the cuffs... initially i thought it's just long
come back home and take a 2nd try, the diameter is totally wrong... way too big even though i told them to make sure to make leeway for my watch(my watch is normal nothing big/thick either)
but the diameter is so big, i can take off at LEAST half an inch if not 3/4 of an inch...
definitely going back to change my cuffs after CNY!

I think thats the risk going to a tailor. U have to trial and error with several tailors to get the best u have in mind.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Dreamland will make it right for me. Coz I made 2 shirts at one go! Damn, should have made only one piece to try first... :(
