those are the safest colours liao... try black? use different patterns lor... stripes/checks? different colour mix?

black?
imagine that with black pants and white belt.:p
joking joking.

I think all black might not work for my industry of work.

I had to chop off my shoulder length hair to my very short hair with fringe touching eyebrow.:( That is partly no choice coz i have to serve reservist:s27:
Slightly dyed hair will be WOW to them.
Wearing a pink shirt to work today double WOW them.

What do u think?

Oh.
Initials on shirt? Ok, I think i am quite "sua ku", never see before.:p

But if its done tactfully, it can be quite nice.

But I also heard of tailors sewing your name on the label part. As in the shirt is really customise for u, and it will not bear the name of the shop.
I think this is more cool.:D

my jacket has my name on it on the inside. but it also has the shop's label and the material's label.

my shirts only have the name of the shop and also the label from the material.

i actually have quite a few pink shirts. I even have a red shirt...

The only red shirt I have is the one with white stripes which I posted earlier.

hey guys

Just got my shirt made today @ Dreamland.

I got myself a blue shirt with thin white stripes, with white collar/cuffs (banker style).
it's 2 ply Egyptian cotton for $120. Is this a reasonable price?

It'll be ready in 2 weeks. Will post pics.

Dreamland looks like the 'biggest' and more 'posh' looking of the shops in Peninsular, so it seems.
Anyway, I told her (Amy), that I came recommended from info I found online, (I was looking for which tailor to go to, and found this thread) and she was, 'wow' people talking about me online? She didn't ask where I got this info online though. She asked me what was said about her and so forth, and I just basically reiterated what I found here. The good stuff from here, whatever I read.

After that she said, 'wow if got complain, people will sure talk online about it', and I said, 'of course! So do a good job!! haha'. I said it light heartedly of course, and she was laughing away.

Well, let's hope the shirt looks good! I always wanted nice banker style shirts. $120 seems okay, because the only kind of good quality/looking banker style shirts I can find retail is the Alain Figaret line of shirts, but they are $220 a piece!! and not Egyptian cotton.

Recently this thread like many Dreamland "converts" huh.:p
I hope its a good turn around and not pull down their quality...

Ya. True lah. Such job is very skill and service based. If u do it good, words spread very fast and business will roll in.
But of course if bad, also die lah...

Personally, I find Amy a very gd PR person. She knows how to make sure that you will like a customer. This isnt really what most shops can do these days.
I was thinking to go back make a floral shirt and the berms i had in mind. See tmr if i dun oversleep, maybe i will pop by there.

I think $120 for 2 ply Egyptian cotton very good price leh. Afterall, so far all if u noticed, those whom had posted here abt having the Egyptian cotton made also ard $150 and above.

They're called barrel silk knots, quite commonly available on the net. Google for them!

(PS Did the pair you have come with a Docker's shirt?)

If your body size is quite standard average, I will advise you to get from normal shops. Since your job is only going to be for ard 3mths.

U have to consider the fact that you might slim down or put on weight during your 2yrs nsf life...
tailor could be a risk for u now.

So it will depend how u see this.

Shop in Raffles City basement selling, can't remember what it's called. Also store in Suntec that sells mens shirts and ties, very fancy one but very ex!

Advise you buy from ebay or online, should be cheaper.

Why silk knots and not the metal ones? >.>

Actually silk knots are considered to be as formal, if not even more formal than cufflinks.

Silk knots are not common and very classy in my opinion. It allows you to add a bit of character to the standard male office wear template of shirt/tie/pants especially since men have limited options as compared to our female colleagues :s22:. It looks nice with a similarly matched tie :p.

i got mine done at mohan's which is located in far east... 2 shirts(1 avg material, 1 slightly better) + 1 pair of pants(not bad material)... total damage $406. tailor made clothes can be quite a headache when comes to choosing which pattern u want as u cant see the finished product.

suggestion is buy off the rack at shops where they can still alter it. Celio has some nice shirts, damage ard $70++ and topman too. G2000 is a no-no... TOO COMMON.

What material and style would be advisable for a tall guy, not so slim *ehem* with obvious beer belly and love handles?
Ok, I'll admit it, grossly out of shape.
Any advise from you fashion gurus?
