New on the meck KB front, but was recommended CM Trigger because my preference is with LED backlighting as I sometimes game at night with lights out.....and must be red to match my system. Been using it a few days and I'm pretty happy with it thus far. BTW, I dunno if it's me or not, but it feels so damn responsive even when compared to my previous gaming grade KB, Logitech G15 v1.0. This KB is heavy and seems sturdily built, I like what I'm seeing so far.

Same here. Using CM Storm QuickFire Pro (Blue) coz I didnt like the macro switches (bought a Roccat Isku by accident before this, had to sell it off at a loss) and I wanted LED lighting. At that point of time LED lighting mech KBs fared at $195 price range. So I didnt mind having partial-LED lighting (though can be quite a limitation when gaming at nights with nights off) and this was the best keyboard at that time that didnt need to break the $150 barrier.

There are so many brands out there for mech keyboards. Razer, Ducky, Rosewill, Corsair. Which one should I get?

Cheap and good, CM
Sky's limit, Topre
Quality, Filco/Leopold

Compact designs, Noppoo, KBC

Silent, red switch
Feel, brown/blue switch
Gaming, black switch

Have been using Razer Blackwidow Ultimate for quite sometime. RMA-ed once due to dead LEDs on KB. Given a chance, i would rather get Filco or Ducky KB :o

Been using a Filco for a few years, even before it was available locally (MO by pa9797 IIRC).

Built quality is no horse run. Even today still looks so new, only wear is on a few keycaps which are easily replaceable and cheap anyway. :D

After using mech KB for so long, I type on normal keyboard like no feeling, something wrong like that. :s13:

I am using Blackwidow Ultimate.

Bought new this year, about 4 months old. No issues so far with the LED or spacebar and right alt problem.

-The shiny plastic looks cheap but I don't think the whole built quality is that bad since it doesn't give in and "bend" when I tried to "twist" it
-The driver/software (Razor Synapse 2.0) sucks with too much constant updates.
-Initial frustration with hitting the macro keys instead of the shift and ctrl, which takes time to get use to

if you don't need lighting and those macro keys better to get something else.
