now wsd is better?

I went to get zeelot from casefactorie after hearing so many good reviews... But so far the fp reader is very moody. Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes it doesn't work at all and I cannot even re-register fp! Any idea if this will improve over time or I should just go back down to get a replacement?

Waited 3 weeks using zeelot Wanted go down change another piece zeelot but they said new batch of WSD works now so might as well top up for WSD.
Lady removed zeelot and there was no glue residue. Showed me a WSD and there was clearly a difference. I believe the key is the glue...

Anyway the WSD can get cranky sometimes and not success rate is hovering around 80 to 90% but hey I using WSD and supposed to be premium right...hahaha

Day 2 of zeelot protector.... Seems to work better now over time and after using UV light to do an extra curing for 10mins on the fingerprint area

so there no 100% working SP now to make sure that the FP works?

shud i install any SP then? sometimes feels like i am wasting money on SP alot, when i actually paying the phone much lesser, my S10+ cost $0 to me after CIS promo combo 6 recontract which i does every 2 years.

but i spend on SP like more than $100 on it, sometimes just feel tat , i am wasting way too much money on it.

so i tot of just buying spigen casing and put it on then use the screen raw without protection will do.

It just an insurance. As long you are careful not to break it, i think going raw is fine haha

Can use plastic sp I guess. I'm more worried about scratches than cracks.

So far my zeelot is a bit hit and miss. But seems to be improving over the past day

This is why it's better to just use a case + the plastic/film screen protector, since that doesn't affect the effectiveness of the fingerprint scanner.

Same here my S10 cost $0 after CIS and combo 6. Still cannot justify getting the glass protector... Using raw on pixel 2 xl, few scratches but can live with it. But I did bought spigen film protector to try them out.

Sent from Samsung SM-G973F using GAGT

If ur someone who's very careful with your phone and takes great care of it, you can do so without a glass protector. That's provided you use a relatively good/thick case and does not drop your phone.

I used my s7 Edge raw for 3 yrs with just a spigen ultra hybrid case. A bit of minor scratches here and there and I almost do not drop my phone.

I don't think using a tgsp really helps in protecting from cracks. Especially if the sp is glued on, quite hard to see how it will absorb the impact of a drop.

But I will still use a SP, whether film or glass, to protect against scratches. While GG is very strong, sometimes suay suay if your pocket has some sand particles or something it may still result in micro scratches on your screen.

Anyway, so far my zeelot had some issues on the first day, but it seems to have settled down somewhat. Can achieve unlock more than half the time now.

One trick I use is: register one thumb first. Then later on if it's no longer recognised properly (usually after I shower or wash my hands or something), recognise another thumb. Then now the sensor should be able to recognise both moist and dry thumb

Took off the Zeelot SP as well. Now even with dry thumb the sensor works flawlessly. ;)

can i just use the original flim that was already pasted? does it affect the fingerprint?

i can give myelf a reason for good casing becuz i do drop my phone like once in the blue moon, the casing is an assurance.

but screen protector.... is getting more n more exp as years goes by.

i am using S9+ now, phone $0.... but i wonder how pieces of tempered glass i change. one piece easily $15, and sometimes doest fit with my spigen case. is like wa lao, put the tempered glass on, then put casing on, the casing will push the Sp out from edge. then GG, SP gone.

if not, i found a perfectly fit tempered glass. but... use like 2 months only, i can see white dust conquering the corner in between the display n sp liao.

wa lao.. really sometimes think liao will vomit blood.

Yes, the pre-installed SP is fine. Its arguably better than most other film screen protector too. Haha. I regret having tried the WSD tempered glass, have it fail, got my refund back, but then need waste money buy film screen protector.

Side note: if anyone knows of a film screen protector that has good oleophobic coating, please let me know.

If you guys want cheap tempered glass screen protector can buy from taobao or AliExpress. Only 2 to 5 dollars there. Fingerprint compatibility is not guaranteed.

I always bought my past sp from Aliexpress but S10 is whole different ballgame because of this fingerprint saga. So I feel now is better off buying local as they provide "warranty " and pasting.

Also I had a bad experience on these China sites.
It's not the glass but the glue. My previous note 9 when I wanted to change SP for CNY. The SP was stucked to the screen. I had to crack the SP and use a flat screwdriver to scrape it off...Took me 1 day to do it. Thankfully the SP came off eventually but I am sure I had many many microscopic scratches on the screen.

Later I asked some local shop ppl and they mentioned some unscrupulous sellers instead of loca glue. They use super glue type of glue. I think this makes sense. So just sharing here for FYI.
Of course This really depends on luck but u will only find out when u wanna change the sp not during application

For those with zeelot and wsd, what's the safest way to remove the screen protector?

In case this happens to anyone, use a razor blade or a penknife. It'll slice the dried glue right off.
