I'm genuinely curious why the topic of EV attract so many haters?

EV haters talk until how lousy and bad EV are. Nowadays see car fire must be EV EV EV.

Meanwhile, 62% of all new car sales are EV?

because Net Zero is a scam.

you see the environmental destruction and exploitation of 4th word populations from mining rare minerals for EV batteries you will cry.

Anyone living in a first world metropolis has no moral ground to fall back upon. Their entire existences are precipitated on the exploitation or others and the environment.

Soul? If you want soul, ride a horse. The British still have horse riders dressed in 18th century costumes horse marching around Buckingham Palace.
I think there is a disconnect somewhere here.

1. Equestrianism is a beautiful sport, and those who like horses have every right to appreciate these magnificent, of not somewhat smelly and very gassy beasts.

2. Even as you bring up PMAs and their ilk, there is no lack of interest in human powered two wheel contraptions as evidenced by the swarms of lycra-clad mounted knights assailing the blacktop on weekends.

Art, analog watches, performance cars and the above two are clear cut, relatively mainstream examples why whilst Teknologie eventually mutates the masses, there remain pockets that remain the domain of those who appreciate older things.

A bit OT. Me? Hate EVs? I just bought a Chinese EV. :ROFLMAO:

infrastructure and LTA structure i guess, it take 5 mins to pump petrol but 30 mins to charge to 60%. Unless you stay private , the faster adoption means longer waiting time , not sure if anyone interested to wake up at 4am to remove the charging pump to avoid being penalised

power of EV imported penalized by LTA structure, end up insurance cost etc go up

what singapore need maybe is lower power EV after all it is city driving most of the time
I cant believed still got ppl think they need to wake up at 4am to remove charger

There are many uninformed sinkies who succumbed to fear mongering and brain washing that EV is bad.

Don't bother la... sure got people like to stir these, just like lane hoggers, a lot of rage bait.

Let it go, cannot make people happy one. Just like flat-earthers vs earth-rounders.

This is forever a debate.

Part of it is probably push back from what is perceived as being forced down the throat rather than a freedom to choose.
It's one thing to choose to eat something healthy vs being forced to eat something healthy.

Another thing is that the EV adoption appears to be too rushed, with suspicions of green washing, simply moving the point of pollution elsewhere up the chain just to be able to claim to be environmentally friendly when the net effect might be negative, especially for Singapore where the policies favour changing a new car after 10 years and not say continued use of the same EV, which is where the real net gain begins to accumulate.
Pushing EVs is not difference from pushing charging for plastic bags, charging for bottles for drinks etc!

Yet the vehicles that causes the most pollution, namely public buses and taxis etc are not EVs yet and mostly uses diesel that causes much more pollution than petrol cars ...

To go green, shouldn't they have banned Diesel vehicles in Singapore in the first place much earlier on?

Let's be clear. All these going green initiatives don't save the earth.

What we're doing is simply delaying the inevitable of global warming and destruction. As population grows, demands and needs, grows.

We can don't use plastic bags, don't use petrol, but either way, earth is dying. Honestly, going green NOW, isn't going to cut it.

It's just hogwash that people think going vegan, going green, will save the earth. The only way to save the earth, is for humans to die off and let the earth recover. So I don't really believe in going green to save the earth is by buying EVs.

I buy is because I had a good deal and opportunity. Else, I'm still happily revving my 2L petrol car.

That is how the world works now, That is why they come up with carbon credits so that the rich flying in private jets can buy carbon credits to offset their carbon emissions and appear to be even greener than people who take public bus running on diesel.

IMHO.
It is usually EV against the rest. If it is the rest against EV, there will be haters too but the haters have not so effective case because of range anxiety and charging infrastructure.
