Since 2015, GE and PE have been done on Fridays, thats 3 elections in a row already.

If its Friday, 9th May, the likely date they will dissolve parliament is 17 Apr.
Should be Friday.
So many people looking forward to holiday leh.
Sat GG Liao.

Need teacher to be volunteers hence, must be during sch holiday?
They won't hold it during school holidays, teachers will be on leave by then, there will be a lot of resentment amongst teachers if you disrupt their holiday plans as they don't have flexibility in choosing their leave dates. Plus parents will bring kids on holidays. Administratively unwise and adds costs to running the election as people need to be reinstated back onto the electoral rolls.

They need to use the school campus for polling stations, so school holidays will be the best.
School holidays, especially mid and year end will have lots of people flying overseas, dun think it's the best period for election.

Most people already preparing for 10 May election polling date.

The whatsapp message going around is something like this:

Nomination Day
28/4/25

Election Campaign
2/5-8/5/25

Cooling-off Day
9/5/25

Voting Day
10/5/25

😊

I personally believe the actual dates are one week earlier. The above whatsapp message was probably delibrately spread around to test balloon or something.

If cooling off day is labour day, it will be damn weird, cuz labour day will have speeches. So, high chance cooling day on 2nd May instead.

Also, map announced on 11 March.

High chance, 1-2 weeks earlier than the dates in the circulating whatsapp message.
Quote first, if not true will report for POFMA

Only parents will travel during school holidays, children can not vote so not affected.

A lot of ppl will be angry and vote for opp if held on Sat means no extra holiday
If Sat is a non working day for you, your company should provide a off in lieu day, either next Monday or another day credited to your leaves

If get off-in-lieu instead of outright holiday, its like getting the CDC vouchers instead of cash feeling.

Not all will give off in lieu, and if work half day on Sat, means only get half day holiday when held on Sat
