why not? if u see the top companies profits, they can donate for the cause
Singapore society is paper certificate.
No good academic no good pay.
Sent from Mercedes-Benz E250 using GAGT
minimum wage of $5 per hour? work 1 hour can pay for 1 caipng meal and drink.
No. You lose competitiveness.
$5 an HR is 2001 pay?

In what way? If we have minimum wages, we can still attract talents because they won’t be rejecting the job due to low pay anymore
why not? if u see the top companies profits, they can donate for the cause
No. You lose competitiveness.
Top companies are profiting a lot. Being private individuals, they seek to minimize cost and maximize profit.
So to get them to pay better is impossible.
With the ability to employ foreigners, the wages can never raise despite local supply of labour is low. This means that the companies actually have an endless supply of labour... hence the depressed wages
Everyone's work stays the same quality, cos boss just pay minimum. Work better and be more innovative for what?
No. You lose competitiveness.
You are making the assumptions that people get paid according to their work.
You mean right now in sg, people are paying based on their work performance ? Like McDonald’s staff are paid15$ an hour if he is hardworking?
Everyone get paid the same. Only those with good performances are awarded with recognition like promotion and awards. With or without minimum wages, it is the same
no. u force them to pay heavy taxations.
if most countries do this, they cant escape their social responsibility to give back
yes, as a business owner, you lose competitiveness. manpower cost cant reduce further. other countries with no min wage will win hands down.
someone has to lose in order for the majority to benefit.
do u know that our low wages workers are falling way behind and already lost all their competitiveness and motivation?
on one hand u have ppl earning few millions per year
on the other, u have ppl who earns 12k per year.
Still a better model than giving people a minimum wage. Singaporeans and the foreigners that come do not have the basic work ethics of a first world country. You have to reward innovation and competence.
