Thanks for the heads up about Fukuichi. Have heard good things about the place, there was even a groupon-type discount previously, but been eating too much extravagant food of late that I had to give it a pass.
How was the food?
It's really ideal that there are some decent food places at Triple One with decent/no corkage and a lovely wine store at 1855 round the corner to boot. Killer combination for the wine lover.
Am interested to go for the Local Nose wine fair but dunno if I can squeeze out the time this weekend. Have always enjoyed their wine recommendations. Popped by Le Vigne at Henry Park recently to get a recommended Shiraz blend there and the guy there, Lewis, was really nice and friendly. The shop reminds me of the quaint wine shops in Europe, but it may nostalgia playing a part; I used to frequent that row of shops in my primary school days, when they had a Milano's (90 cents garlic bread), Word Shop (buy X-Men comics) and provision shop for my fix of 10 cent bubble gum, panini sticker collection and hazelnut bar ice cream haha... sorry for going OT, never could resist a walk down memory lane
Btw just received a mailer from Straits Wine, there's a wine tasting coming Wednesday evening for a Rioja producer - Marques De Murrieta - at UE Square. Anyone keen? I'm curious, since ikileo has constantly been extolling the virtues of Spanish wines
