Care to share how you do your layering for the Winter holiday season? What are the winter wear brands you go for and recommend and how much are you willing to spend for each winter holiday season?

For me, if I am heading for minus temperature, Ice breaker merino wool of 200 - 260 is a must followed by a fleece jacket and a good down (FP 800 - 1000) plus a hard shell

Share your winter shopping loots and footwear and socks too and the activities and places you go. For me Uniqlo don't seems to work.

Freezing in heat tech and now they launch the cashmere series but i have doubts abt it
Get Uniqlo's heatec - that one is quite good

Spam a few layers, from heatec inner to pullover to sweater and then if you must, a winter coat hahah

Ya battery life is a big issue in the cold. Phones are easier to manage, just put it in your inner breast pocket to keep it warm, powerbanks also become useless if cold. The worst are camera batteries, my gopro auto shut down the moment I entered the water. Didn't get any footage at all.
Did you go SIlfra Fissure diving between tectonic plates? I thought usually those are done with vendors who will include filming for you?

I want to travel light.. dun want to look like a dumpling and yet still keep warm. Like all others mentioned, heat pack lo.. But as techology improved, i believe we can still be all warm and comfy without dressing in bulk!

My heaviest layering was in deep winter hokkaido was :

Top : 1 x ski jacket, polo tee and then heat tech inner wear....
bottom: 1 x ski pants, jeans and heat-tech
Hands: 1 x padded gloves
Shoes : Hiking shoes with thick wooly socks..

Heating packs are only good for hands etc

Anyway, layering doesn't mean we have to use very thick clothings - several thin layers can work quite well

Lastly, if you aren't prepared, you are going to be very miserable in the cold hahah

Need more story sharing like these to help us navigate winter
Singaporeans travel widely but hardly share experiences!
Yar, my friends are a grp of Singaporeans and Malaysians so imagine how worried they were cos the most we experience is thunder storm.

Btw for completion sake (I didn't realise I never include the ending), their log house is steady and the car was still there in the morning. After the hurricane, morning open the door see aurora (but I think they still happier to see the car still there).

KNN, a good part of my time there, I was shivering like a damn dog because of the wind until I buay tahan and bought a padded jacket from GU.

Yup it's easy to underestimate how cold 10ish degrees is. Especially coupled with wind

U also need to check out the breathablity if the fabric.

Some is keep out cold very well but cannot breath, end up your sweat will be trapped inside the jacket and will feel ery lousy. Then once u take it off to let the sweat out, you are exposed to cold air
