Does anyone know the differences between Mifo O5, O5 plus and the O5 pro?

I actually do have a daily driver which is an wired IEM which i think i will continue using as a daily driver and the TWS earbuds probably will be used during exercise or when i go hiking. I was mindful that the Mifo earbuds are kinda out of the USD50 price bracket but i am attracted to the emphasis on battery life and the fact that the O5 plus features a balanced armature driver

Not sure about the Plus, but between the O5 and O5 Pro, the difference is in the driver lor. Had the O5 Pro for a while, but eventually gave to my sister since the sound signature didn't really suit my taste. Battery life is legit though. In the 1 month+ that I had it, I've never had to recharge the charging case. haha. but honestly that's still a bit of an overkill. Most TWS have decent battery these days, and to me doesn't matter if it can go that long without charging if the sound isn't to my liking.

It would help to know your preferred type of sound too if you have one, like the IEMs that you're using now and how you like it. Some of the folks in here have quite a lot of TWS and IEMs in their collection so they might be able to help.:s13:

Oh, and this is a good site if you're looking for reviews. Tons of options.

They have a newer model, the O7, and it supports aptx.

But this one has a reduced sized case, with a lower capacity battery.

From reviewers and buyers of this newer model, it looks like the sound signature did not change. Still a very noticeable lack of bass.

Mifo earbuds ... buy from a Popular bookstore better.

Dunno why but it seems to be cheaper than online platforms.

I recalled last 2 week ago, I saw something like s$59/- or thereabout for mifo 5... I was looking out for mifo 7 but out of stock.

Now Popular also have 1to1 promo for sound peat earbuds @ s$39/-

Mifo 5 last week has sales in lazada. $50 from a china seller and $57 from a local seller. But the sound quality may not please many, from the buyer's reviews. Its clear, but lacks bass.

Soundpeats if its truedots can buy. I am still waiting for mine to be delivered from aliexpress ($30 for 1 after discount).

Hey thanks for your informative reply. I am using the CCA-C10 now. I dont like the sound to be overly bassy and i prefer the emphasis to be on clarity with a central soundstage. i guess i dont need a chinese TWS that cost me USD100 thereabout but it would be nice to have a pair that would last at least a year in terms of solid battery performance given i likely might use the TWS maybe 3 or 4 times a week (1 hour each time). Possible to have solid battery performance in the USD50 price bracket which is not flaky in connection? :s13:

Heard its very very good. But I am not sure how to order from Amazon US.

If you order from elsewhere like gearbest or other chinese sellers from lazada/shopee, I am not sure which variant they are selling. Apparently there are 2 versions, 1 chinese voiced, 1 english voices. Amazon US should be selling the english one.

Oh, since you mentioned soundpeats truedot, it recently got a really good review from Scarbir.com and is his top option for under US$25. From his review and comparison with a few other TWS I've tried, I think that the Haylou GT1 Plus might have a similar sound signature to the truedot actually, and the GT1 Plus is pretty much my favourite TWS now in terms of value. :s13: now just waiting for him to get his GT1 Plus and compare them.

Hey man.

Just received my soundpeats truedots.

The review at scarbir has some minor inaccuracy. Not sure if he is testing an older version or something.

The soundpeats truedots I received supports aptx tws+. It also supports volume adjustment. Single tap left bud to reduce volume and single tap right bud to increase.

Looks like its a worthy rival to Haylou GT1 Plus at this price range for $30+.

The case is really compact. Even smaller and lighter than my haylou gt2.

Maybe an older version. All the listing I've seen on lazada, aliexpress, says its a realtek chip and lists aac only.

the lazada listing actually says V1, so maybe there is another version.

Soundpeats i think use quite a few QCY/Haylou design anyway, or likely same factory, so won't be surprised if Soundpeats update it with the internals of the gt1 plus. Haylou also like to stealthily update their stuff also. GT1 at launch didn't support low latency game mode, but the newer version has that. :s13:

Edit: interestingly amazon listing shows aptx support.

Yeah, I think Amazon's description is more accurate to what I have.

Lazada's description is funny. Lol. 9-10 times full charge.
[MORE & LONGER ENJOYMENT] - 3.5-4 hours working time per charge for the earbuds, 9-10 times full charge by the charging case. SoundPEATS TrueFree Plus wireless earbuds bring extended playtime and enjoyment.

I really wished it can recharge 9-10 times with the case having such a small form factor.

Scabir does have a couple of recommendations in the under 50usd category, and the alien secret qcc010 looks promising actually even though i've not tried that. feature rich, and seems to sound good. Battery life rating seems decent too, so it should have some headroom even if the battery does degrade over time. Just that have to buy export set which lacks warranty. it's about S$46 on aliexpress and new user coupon can bring it down to 42?.

https://www.scarbir.com/leaderboard-50

MPOW T5 could be a nice option too as mentioned by ParkJinYoung. I don't think it's overly bassy still, but i've not used the CCA C10, so not sure about how it compares. it can be found on local online sites like lazada/shopee too. Good volume, nice mids, though I feel like the highs can get a bit harsh sounding at louder volume. It's slightly fatiguing for longer sessions for me too. But definitely good performer at this price range, even though sound signature wise it's still not my favourite, so gave them away to my cousin.

Mifo O5 Pro despite the BA setup, I don't think it particularly excels in terms of clarity though. To me it's a very laid back sound/smooth sound and maybe even a little dark. Not much bass presence, not much treble. Though i think upper mids IIRC is a tiny bit elevated and maybe a little shouty at higher volume? Which if you find the bass a bit lacking you definitely would be using it at a higher volume, especially while exercising. It seems to be tuned for minimal fatigue rather than for maximum sound quality to me. :s13:

Truedots according to Remless could be a good option too, and it's highly rated by scarbir. Especially if you're able to get the version with Aptx (better for android phones).

For me personally I dig the haylou Gt1 plus. It's quite a balanced sound overall to me. It has good sub-bass, but not overly bassy, mids has good presence and isn't overshadowed by the other freq, and there is decent treble too. Imaging is one of the slightly wider ones that I've heard too, but i think it comes at the cost of some passive isolation. just that the batter life might not be enough for long term use since battery life is quite meh. Also not sure if the sound quality will be to your liking since it doesn't seem to have as much upper mid range boost (which might give more perceived clarity) like what a lot of companies are doing these days. :s13:

But either way, I haven't heard any TWS that can compete with wired IEMs yet. In the under 50USD price range can already get so many good chi-fi stuff like KZ ZSX for example. And the law of diminishing returns is even truer for wireless audio since there is limitation on its bit rate.

So just go in with less expectations and should be fine for more casual usage like exercising, etc. :D

i think mistranslate or what. I think i've seen some list ipx4, some ipx5. like all over the place. but i'm becoming even more convinced that it's like a haylou GT1 plus with a different top shell on the earbud, and a different top shell on the charging case. the bottom portion looks pretty much identical to the haylou. hahahaha

Btw, I think you can include fiil tx1 to your recommendation for USD50, if its possible to buy from Amazon US. It seems really good.

Probably need a forwarder like Vpost to order and ship from them to sg, and to consolidate purchases to save on shipping (its like buying from taobao).

Most TWS are going to be better for exercise than those neckbuds type IMO. Used to use those neckbuds type starting with jaybird bluebuds, then got the X2, Samsung Level Active, and some cheapo aukey one, and all of them died in a few months for me (i sweat a lot), even for the jaybirds which are supposedly "sweat proof". For the X2 I exchanged twice before giving up.

If shorten the cable so that the cable doesn't move around, the controls (where most of the circuitry are) are basically in direct contact with sweat. If you don't the cable dangles around the neck and make it annoying to turn head to check blind spots.

So TWS is definitely the way to go IMO. Normally we don't sweat from our ears, and most of the sweat is coming from head and flowing down? So for TWS, unless hand itchy go touch or what, most of the time is fine.

Longest I've used TWS while running was around 2hr+ and never had any issue with water damage for any of my TWS. For jogging one of my favourite is still the creative outlier air because it fits my ears really nicely and doesn't move around much at all, but then I understand quite a number of folks here have had bad experiences with the fit, so YMMV. :s13:

Thanks for sharing. After runs, i will gently rinse the entire earbuds with tap water for a few seconds to rinse out the sweat. After that will air dry til next day before charging.

The jaybird x4 are supposedly ipx7 rated but seems to be poor in this aspect despite only used for a few months (twice a week, 1hr+ each time). It’s a shame, i really liked the sound.

Perhaps i should try the jabra true wireless. They have 2 year warranty against dust and sweat. Slightly concerned about the fit; if they would stay in the ears (doesnt seem to have ear fins)

only thing now is that anything that ships in from china might take some time. haha.

haha. yeah. but i think most of the time it's not as bad? Unlike earbuds with cables pulling them down, most TWS earbuds are actually quite light. I've jogged with a wide variety of TWS and haven't encountered any that would just fall out. At most some will loosen the seal a little and change the sound a little. But YMMV depending on ear shape i guess.

Best is to try it in person to see if you like the sound and fit first if you can, since the Jabras are not exactly cheap. I think some stores should have demo units for the jabra? also another thing to note is that there is the elite active 75t which should be coming eventually.
