How is it compare with S1 and S2?

in terms of sound quality... A LOT BETTER. :s13: I was already expecting to like the single DD setup since some of my most enjoyable gear are single DD stuff, but I wasn't expecting it to be so good. haha.

bass is a lot punchier than the S2, with solid sub-bass that would put most TWS to shame, but it falls off nicely into midbass, and doesn't bleed into mids. Mids sounds fuller and more forward in the mix, so it sounds balance with the bass and treble. Male vocals don't sound thin anymore, and female vocals still have enough treble to give them a bit of airiness to sound more natural.

Treble doesn't sound sibilant at all unlike the S2, but still well extended. Also sounds more natural without that slightly steely timbre that hybrid KZs are sometimes known for. So for string instruments like acoustic guitars, they sound more natural to me as well. Not peaky sounding or fatiguing too. So treble is actually really well done too.

Technicalities wise, it's decent for TWS, but still can't match IEMs for sure due to limitation of bluetooth, so kinda pointless to nitpick on that since it's the same for all TWS. If i compare it to my most resolving gear (etymotic er4xr) with loseless music files, definitely gonna lose one. lol.

Overall just based on sound quality & tonality, this is probably my favourite now. it's like a slightly better and way more fun sounding version of the Gt1 Plus, which has been my favourite since I got it a few months back. The tonality is really nice for my taste.

Been using it for a couple of hours & I like this A LOT more than their budget IEMs like the ZSN Pro, and even ZS10 Pro. if they put this tuning and driver into a pair of IEMs and sell it for the same price as the Z1 I'll probably be willing to pay just as much to get it (considering TWS normally have limited lifespan especially with the tiny battery inside, and IEMs can last a whole lot longer).

Also as expected, this is the loudest TWS I've used to date. On iPhone 11, 50% volume on the Z1 is about 65-70% on the S2, and about 80% on the haylou GT1 Plus. At home I have it at like 45% volume only even with a portable air con running in the same room. When jogging i go a bit louder at like 55-60% only. My guess is that this is one of the reason why battery life rating is so bad.

Also it has no IP rating, and for some reason they went back to using micro-USB even though the S1 and S2 used USB-C. My guess is that for this model, most of the cost went into that new driver. lol.

I never dropped it, just use it for commuting home and work

it is really good but this sort of irritates me because it was quite expensive when it was launched and i was sad when it failed on me and when they replaced 2 new ear buds i was glad but now it failed again,

i wonder if the quality is good or not,

also not sure if still got warranty but now circuit breaker going on, still can walk in to bring the earbuds for check and replacement ?

i used to have thar problem, i went down twice

first time, they repalce the RHS and it worked,
but it did not charge so once the batt ran our it stop working

2nd time, i went down they replaced it with another RHS earbud
so far still okay.

but i think maybe from me dropping it and working out with it...
perhaps its not meant for sweaty usage
although the sound is nice

not sure if the current nuarl models, n6 or the sport has improved on its fragile-ness

officially the last spec given is IPX5. though will take it with grain of salt since the vent at the top is quite big. so splashes can still get it. maybe the electronics inside have water repelling coating.

Z1 has no IP rating though. but the vent is at the side and smaller. :s13:

maybe? not sure actually. But now the price is up to 34USD which is the same as the new KZ Z1. lol. the air vent is for the driver ya. Actual purpose probably dependent on the IEMs? some say vented have better airflow for the driver so soundstage is better, some say to mitigate driver flex, etc. haha

You tried using a tooth pick and rub the contacts on the earbuds and the case?

Might be not charging.

Can I check for IPX5 rating (eg. Fiil T1x) it it fine to wash them under running water after a exercising?

If not, any good recommendation for IPX7 under S$50? Is Mpow T6 or M9 any good? Which will be your choice?

Thank you!

Even with ipx7 you aren't suppose to rinse them under running water.

I read as below..

“IPX7: Can be submerged up to 1 meter in water for 30 minutes.”

Any one can advice on this?

The reason is because I perspire alot.. like really alot. So looking for a pair of TWS that can be rinse/ wash under running water to clear away the sweat.

haha. it's not ya. the mic is at the bottom of the earbuds pointing down towards the mouth. AFAIK they don't have secondary mics for voice call noise cancellation too like the more premium TWS options. :s13:

Any one using poweramp?

I using poweramp on android. :s13:

But does sweat normally drip into your ears? I sweat a lot too and over the years I've used a ton of TWS earbuds and haven't had issues with sweat dmg with any of them before, even those without IP rating. Cause for me the sweat normally flows around my ears and don't really get wet. Unless you want those ear hook type then probably more troublesome. Then once a while i just use alcohol swab to clean it to keep it clean.

For me IP rating is nice to have only when jogging when it's drizzling or what. haha.
