Speaking of Airpods. I just got myself an iPhone 13 Pro Max recently and I always welcome the idea of an Apple eco system for convenience. But I don’t believe they are really that good earphones, and even if they really are, the price point is on the higher side.

I would prefer something I can use for long hours, can recharge fast, and ideally has lots of juice in the battery case.

My fiancee has an old Air Pods gen 2 and I’ll use it to take calls from my iPhone, and use the Sony one with my laptop for normal work.

Creative outlier free not bad for running. Is bone conduction type. Now 79 bucks I find it good buy for running.

i would say the airpods pro is justifiable
But definitely not the regular airpods

Probably can go like 13-14 hrs straight

if anyone is looking for the high-end ones, I recently got a pair of Bose Quietcomfort Buds II to replace my AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro 2 has much louder volume (At 25% is enough for me), but Bose QCBII I need to go about 45-50%.

Other than that, I prefer the Bose - sound is a lot fuller and wider, you can hear separate instruments like guitars, synths, etc. AirPods everything is very flat; so this is likely because Bose QCBII default tuning is somewhat V-shaped but I believe it's the hardware too

And AirPods obviously the connectivity and ease of use is unbeatable but I am more for sound quality

i have very similar thoughts when comparing airpods pro 2 to sony wf-1000xm4

Audio level goes to airpods pro 2
But overall sound quality wise it is wf-xm4

Anyway, I am using the regular air pods 2nd generation (spare set from my fiancee after she bought the air pods pro). Previously I was an android user and was using the razer hammerhead wireless earbuds. The connectivity is very poor and after walking away for few meters the connection will break and unable to continue with calls / music as compared to my dedicated platronics ear phone.

For indoor usage…
The BT connection is heavily affected by the thickness of the walls and the amount of metal inside the walls
And base on my testing, this affects all wireless earbuds regardless of price

this is the same logic as indoor wifi.

if you are in the apple ecosystem, you can consider to upgrade to airpods pro 2nd gen

You still have it? Think I thrown mine away, the surface kind of "melted" and become sticky. Mine is this kind. It was ard $50 and very advanced even for today's standard. Rmb there will be a battery update whenever it is on

Got a few BT5.0 hanging around, very consistent signal drop under crowded places

mine was the M70

During covid, I wanted to re-use it... but the plastic become sticky and it cannot charge anymore, so throw away
