Got a Samsung Smartcam HD Pro recently. Reliability is crap. Got it running since last evening and the cam has already dropped its wifi connection twice. The only way to reconnect the cam seems to be to walk to the cam and reboot it. This was never a problem with my old foscam placed at the same exact location.
Is there a camera which don't need configuration?
I rent a room and only have the wifi password
Hi there, been reading the last 20-30 pages, way too much stuff.
Would appreciate if anyone can help to recommend IP camera within the price range of 100-150, looking to get 2 for home monitoring of kids and maid.
have selected a few, VStar, Aztech, Foscam, etc but appears plenty of horror stories. Wanted lesser nightmare if possible.

ease of installation and use.
only thing is need to use their own app if you have multiple sets
as it does not allow port forwarding so IP View my favourite app cannot be used for external viewing.
otherwise for price point it has wide angle view, wide dynamic range and IR. also play back from SD card is convenient if you dont have an NAS etc.
Depends wat u mean by horror... most horror is on end user expectation really. Vstarcam, dlink can b considered for ease of setup n use
Hello Guru's
I have just purchased the Vstarcam C7838WIP-W Wide Angle, it says its 720 resolution but in the selections i can only see up to VGA, is there something I'm doing wrong?![]()
I have the Pro version and am able to set it up using Robert Chou's IP Cam Viewer and my Asus AC router. What I did was to assign the Samsung's MAC ID a static LAN IP address (via the Asus router), and then set up the Virtual server on the Asus router.
