We thank him for sharing his experience with the community here. Dr_Archer, once stocks for E7839WIP is in, we'll contact you to pop over to our humble office to view it. Sorry for the delay, but we really hope to get a near flawless model here.

Look forward to it. I'm now into Win8 tablets. Waiting for my Samsung ATIV SmartPC Pro. Not sure if Robert Chou will develop his app for the Win platform. He has indicated in the past that he won't, but win WinRT, he might change his mind. I think is Android app is one of the best... even his iOS version is not as intuitive as his Android version.

Also, shipment are out from factory to SG for the SG Edition of E7839WIP. New APP is also available for the camera instead of the P2PCAM264. We'll invite geckoSG bro to do another review again once the enhanced models arrive.

Sure. Just let me know and I'll pop over your office. Do delivery the units as soon as you receive them to my 4 site offices. My email is flooded daily from my colleagues on when they can receive the E7839WIP. I reply until I turn mad cow already.

BTW, Irene says thanks to you guys for setting up her shop's CCTV system at such short notice and the step-by-step setup guide you emailed over for mobile setup. She will call you guys soon once she's back from States for the official opening. She says your DVR's mobile viewing is very sharp and clear. What brand did you guys distribute? I might want you guys to come and setup for my office's new factory in Tuas.

h6837 WIP

Hi Gecko or anyone who could help.

I am trying to install h6837 wip . the manual mentions that whilst configuring the wireless set up must allow unit to reboot.
my many questions

-how to know if rebooting is complete?
-remove the lan cable after rebooting or before configuration of the wireless set up?
-if i am setting up for 2 phones , one is Android and the other is Iphone, do i need to do the rebooting process of the camera for both phones?or just once?
-p2pcam264 software . the password i have to enter is 888888?
can i change the password?my worry here is that along the way this camera has passed many hands(in the factory).
so how can i ensure that these people do not have access to
my life feeds?

please help

Regards
Dave

Any bros facing problems with your IP cam on Starhub Fibre?

Maybe someone can assist me here. I was previous on the normal maxonline ultimate. Had no issues or connectivity issues with my Foscam FI8918W.

After upgrading to Starhub Fibre with the new D-Link gateway, i keep getting intermittent and mostly unable to connect. Had already done port forwarding in the virtual server of the gateway.

However from my computer, i can see my cam ip etc from the software and able to login.

I tested with a few iphones, andriods etc...all keep having this problem of connecting.

anyone can assist if fault lies with the IP cam?

U manage to get your Virtual Server (port forward) working on your D-Link router ?

After reading good reviews here about marix and the vstarcams, I decided to call marix about installing a ip wireless camera system for my new place.

I asked a number of queries about site visits, camera positions, installtion costs e.t.c. The person answered my phone politely. Unfortunately, he forgot to put me on mute when he spoke to his colleagues, and I heard clearly all the "not-so-good" remarks about my queries to his collegues.

Not very professional , I would say. Needless to say, I will not be engaging their services

Dear Sir,

Would you be able to provide us with more details on your query earlier? We'll do an internal investigation on this matter as we seriously treat our customer service level with pride.

Do email us at sales@marix.com.sg, attention to "CSO Manager" for our manager to do investigation.

Thank you and regards

HD MegaPixel 32GB SD Card storage wireless ip camera

Currently the popular low price cameras have low video quality, about 300 Kpixels, the picture quite blur. But the HD Megapixels ones are very expensive, selling locally more than $300). Hence I do a search and found this one, about $100. I bought 2 units to test and found it very easy to install and setup on my dlink router 615. Now is streaing on my Samsung 7.7" tablet.

By the way, this china seller accept paypal payment, one unit also selling.

Hi everyone,

I am looking to get a wireless IP cam for the purpose of monitoring my newborn baby next year.

I have shortlisted D-Link DCS-942L & DCS-5222L.

1) For my purpose, is it necessary for me to get a PTZ function? Based on last Sitex price, the difference is 2X.
2) I am currently using a very old Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Would it be compatible with the above D-Link IP Cam?
3) My main function will be checking on my baby's cot when I am not at home using the data plan connection (with Android). At home, I am using Starhub cable connection. Would it work fine in terms of function?

Thank you!

Congrats on being a parent :). Some answers based on my own experience as a father of 3 kids

1) For really young infant who spends more time in the cot than anywhere else, a fixed camera will do. I find it is more important to have infra-red capabilities as it will allow you to monitor your child in a completely dark room.
2) Most first generation IP cameras are on wireless G and they still work well. Newer ones may be onwireless N, so a wireless N router is probably better.
3) It will work, but you need to configure it to make it work e.g. dynamic dns, port forwarding etc.

Hi All,

been reading the previous few pages... you guys are great, thanks for sharing!

I would need an IP camera that can do the following:

1) record video+sound
2) record to a NAS
3) 2-way audio (i.e. talk to the person at the IP camera).

I am considering the E7839WIP or the Dlink DCS-942L. Which will it better for me? I have a concern for Dlink is that the video is streamed to the Dlink site & it might have potential privacy issues. :o

Thanks guys! :D

can anyone share the cost of vstarcam? PM thanks!

You can check out their blogspot. vstarcamsg.blogspot.sg for pricing. They have recently uploaded their promo for SITEX to Christmas. Lucky Draw for an Ipad Mini (16GB WiFi).

My E7839WIP orders were delayed. Seems that factory didn't built according to the SG specs and all stocks were being returned back for rectification.

Damn sian. Luckily my H6837WIP still serving me well... kekeke...
