Need help on my new Vstarcam T7837!

After I had it install, tried to unmute the mic from the android app and it gives out a loud sound almost deafening. Is it the set faulty or something could be done? The listening part is ok. Anyone face with this problem and can you share what you do to solve this?

Also the motion detection recording seems to record no moving object, end up using so much SD memory space even for the pics also taking unnecessary still pics of invisible object. I must say I'm new to all this, I bgt this cam thinking it was suppose to be easy to use, I guess I was wrong. I only want to record when there is motion, anyone knows how to set?

Btw is the warranty card supposed to have a back dated chop date like 6mths, I just got my set yesterday. Is it normal and do I just ignored it so long as I still have my receipt with the actual purchased date on it? Would greatly appreciately if anyone could help! Thanks!

Dun bother about box warranty, tat is manufacturer's warranty for most cameras. Distributors in SG gives local warranty based on receipt dates from resellers one.

Motion detection wise if software base is hit n miss, change in lighting will trigger recording also, small particle tat may reflect lights may cause triggers also. Sound wise if got problem, go back distro for them to check. Upgrade firmware may resolve if software bug.

If u know nuts about cameras, ask distro to check for u better.

There nothing wrong with the sound.....i encounter this a few times.
Just lower the volume and keep a further distance away.

For the first part I suspect you place the mic of your phone too close to the speaker of the camera. It's called feedback. Try placing the microphone away in another room or away from home. If it doesn't work, then it's not feedback.

For the second part, try adjusting the sensitivity of the motion detection. If you have a noisy picture, such as under low light conditions, it will trigger. The noisy picture can be due to many factor's so I will reserve my comments here.

Thanks everyone for your contributed advice..I managed to solve the loud sound on speaker issue..hmm..the zoom feature on my phone app doesn't seems to work on this cam model (T7837wip). Also not able to remove/delete my cam from app (not responding when I tap on the icon) when I want to re-install earlier, so instead of delete, I plug the lan cable again to try to reconnect and so I didn't have to delete. Wonder why cannot remove the cam from app? Now my only problem is that my cam can't detect my movement outside the door but rather record unknown movement. Is great for normal indoor use, but for main door to detect intruders, I may need a cam that can detect human movement. Anyone have any recommendation for outside flat main door, no need those waterproof? I supposed I'll use this existing cam indoor.
I notice this coming Sitex sale Marix is selling a T7837wip-ap cam, is this the same cam as my T7837wip w/o the AP? What's the difference between the 2?

If u cannot remove the cam, ur app is corrupted. Re-install the APP instead. As for ur cam, bring back to distro for firmware flashing n checks perhaps.

Digital Zoom wise, android not supported. Only iphone. I list tat in my review before.

Got newer model har. I go kapo tomorrow and ask them more.

I'm still using my old S2 to view cam, so I don't know does that affect anything like lacking certain features/configurations. I notice the later T7838 model seems to have more setting option on the apps, whereas mine is just the
motion detect armed (tick)/ sensitivity (5), alarm input armed (tick)/ trigger level (disconnect), alarm preset linkage (2)/IO linkage on alarm (tick)/output level (disconnect)..only 3 selection for alarm setting alone on my app. Not sure if my settings is correct, if I just want movement to be recorded?

I'm hoping that they will come out with a better software/app that can record only just movement detection and not like dust falling and it captures, then when there is actual human movement it didn't record at all. Browsing thru 100+ clips within 15 mins seems ridiculous just to view nothing but a white wall infront of my cam. Wonder if anybody brought that up to the support to improve on the apps? I've read that there are others on the vstarcam support forums also facing with this frustration. If is a software issue I guess going down to the distro won't help to rectify my problem. Because also have to consider that I'm using a old phone model and old router Dlink Dir-615 and using most basic broadband. So not sure if is compatability issue here. According to my phone app,it says I'm using the latest firmware when I tried to update.

Something just doesn't seems right. I no longer used S2, so can't comment. U brought from distro? Then U shld really contact them on this issue n let them assist u. If not, then contact the factory might be ur option.

I seldom use motion detection for those software based iP Cameras. If I serious want to detect human motion, I go for Cameras with IR sensor on it instead. Of cos IR sensor based will have their kind of hit n miss too.

Hi Chandler,
Baby monitor comes with one unit at the babies room and the another unit with the parent. If you mean IP cameras, you must be using the handphone or tablet at the parents. Normal coverage is about 60deg viewing angle horizontally. My suggestion is that you use 2 fixed ip cameras without pan and tilt.

Fixed or pan/tilt depends on ur needs, foscam have 4ch baby monitoring cams n think i saw vstarcam also came out with tat too.

So i guess u will be mounting the cams quite high up to see the area

Motion%20detection.jpg

I prefer to set motion detection by PC. The green squares indicate the area to detect and when it flashes red, it tells you motion detected. You can adjust it on the same screen and see the effect. So it's easier to set compared to mobile phone. Hope this helps for motion detection users. If your camera has this feature you can use it. Mine is a H3-186V from EasyN.

Need some recommendations from bros here. Had been reading this thread for the past 20 page, can't seems to find what is really suitable.

My usage is just indoor, monitoring maid and kids. My router/modem (free modem from singnet) is not connected to any PC or laptop, and is set-up right beside the tv. Running on singnet fibre.

Requirements:
1) easy to set-up (please note no PC or laptop is connected to my modem)
2) recording into micro sd
3) able to view on iPhone anytime

Optional requirement:
1) speaker on the cam to communicate
2) motion sensor

Please kindly recommend with brand and model, and where to get. Through reading the past almost 20 pages, someone mentioned about lemon set, and I saw brands like vstarcam authorized dealer only sell at challengers, but I also saw people selling in Qoo10, don't wanna get a lemon set.

Thanks in advance!

VStarcam wise, only authorized units r sold by MARIX n authorised reseller is Challenger, the rest of those QOO10 are NOT AUTHORISED resellers nor distributors, they are self proclaims ones which factory does not recognised nor gives support. Anything goes wrong, good luck to you.

MARIX wouldn't give a damn about your problems if you buy elsewhere. They will ask for serial number to check one when you call up

VStarcam is easy to setup n use. Powerful multi cam view feature, but it is not perfect. It too have so called flaws like motion detection could b 50/50 hit miss, but rest of the functions, people r happy with it. U can try their online demo or view the live recorded clips to make a decision.

Do test out the rest of the brands too if u can have your hands on the demos n make ur decision to buy. Dun regret your decisions.

EasyN Singapore has office here so no need to worry about lemon sets or DOA units. (Dead on arrival).
