How do you set up the "router" in the first place? Sounds like you are using a mobile hot spot and not really a router maybe. Just buy a cheap router and set it up with that.

If the camera comes with a default IP address (e.g. some uses 10.0.0.1, others 192.168.1.1, and still others 192.168.2.0), then you just need to set up your PC/laptop LAN port to operate in the same segment i.e. 10.0.0.2, 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.2.1 respectively. Then connect a cable from your PC/laptop LAN port to the IP camera, and you can configure the camera.

If your camera's default requires a DHCP server to assign IP address, then configure your mobile phone to be a wireless hotspot, and let it assign an IP address. Configure your laptop/PC to do the same i.e. obtain IP address from DHCP. Then use your laptop/PC to configure your camera.

Any such thing as an IP microphone?

Hi all,

Am wondering if there is such a thing as IP microphone? I'm looking for a way to monitor audio only as video cum audio from my cameras are taking up too much bandwidth at work.

Thanks!

On some cameras e.g. Dlink's, you can set the image size and FPS for RTSP feed (mobile devices). You can set the image size to the smallest and the FPS to the lowest. This should reduce the bandwidth usage.

I got failed on the 7838 until I put my email address in the " Receiver 1" space. I am going out on Gmail with port 465, TLS, authentication checked, user name and password and then sending "Receiver 1" to a different address then google. I always hit submit twice and reset once before test. It is now working.

Can you get a camera image using IE Browser? I get just a black screen but the controls work. Downloaded and installed the TODO ActiveX extension. Chrome works fine. Client works for the test/demo cameras but I can't get it to alarm on my 7838. Alarms and email work fine on Chrome. Android works but only for their cameras with the short non-standard Camera ID. That makes these cameras also not work in other common Android programs like P2PCam so you need two programs to monitor different cameras.

Imagine coming to a forum named Hardware Clinic Wireless IP Camera thread and expect to get some assistance when all I got was harassment from a guy that just posts advertisements for a local security camera company, and so called "reviews" that have about as much information as you can read off the box. If you have input and the knowledge to answer the questions, please come forward with it. If you are here just to laugh at people and pump your local security camera shop friends then you are not contributing to this thread in a meaningful way.

I am starting to wonder if you do not answer the questions because you do not know the answers even after you say you have installed and tested the camera. If that is not the case than you are not answering the questions because you are trying to drive business to one particular shop that you mention over and over. Which is it?

I guess you don't get it. Hmmm, what's so hard for you to return your unit back to supplier since its faulty? So, I guess you bought the unit after reading my review done for MARIX? Oh... That explains your anger...

Well, if you bought from MARIX, I'm sure they will be gladly to help you resolve your problem. The unit if showing black screen means something is wrong with it. You should request your supplier to assist in rectifying. Cos they will know what's wrong with it and provide you with a fix.

Same goes for those forumers who keep asking me about the "wrong password" thingie. Go back to your supplier for a fix. I do not have a solution but I know its a UID issue.

Your understanding of harassment is really shallow, if all my female colleagues in my office is as sensitive as you, I'll be in police station daily doing my statement. :D

I am not a guru. I do not have all answers for everything, but I know your unit is faulty, so you need the expertise from the supplier to fix it. Simple isn't it? When my ship docks and reports problem on any hardware, all i did was dial my suppliers and ask them to board the ship and fix it.

And yes, I do recommend MARIX if you wanna get VStarcam, why? Cos they provide you with detailed information before you buy. And I know that P2PCAM264 or PnPCam H does not work for the T series. T series uses only VSCam and it have more features than the H series on mobile. If you read MARIX's blog, you will know too, didn't your supplier tell you these before you buy?

Why I recommend VStarcam for IP Cameras? Cos I personally feel that its easy to setup if I do not want that extra features. Its simple plug and play setup and LIVE streaming. It meets my needs.

Remember, pay peanuts, get monkeys.

Forum is a place for sharing, and yes, we do have a choice what to answer or what not to answer. I do add humour to my replies with icons, etc. You can't accept it? Too bad. Life goes on. Oh yah, so sorry that I am too reluctant to reply your PM.

I did hundreds of reviews before, not just for MARIX's product. I need not use my same nick in diff sector of industries. If the product is good, and service level from SME or MNC is good, I will recommend to anyone. You don't like it? Too bad. Life goes on x 2.

My statement for you remains the same "send it back to your supplier to resolve your issue or get an exchange".

Oh btw, you can also recommend anyone that you think service is good here. This is an open forum. :s22:

Most PnP cameras are DHCP enabled and may not have a fixed IP assigned to it. So you may need to set a private IP address range on your laptop to connect to the cameras directly if you are not using a router.

And mifi have not work for me as it is not possible to set port forwarding for conventional ip cameras.

So, for non-IT savvy guys, go for PnP cameras for less hassle setups.

Well it looks like we just learned a lot more about you than I even asked about. Let's see what you just admitted:

1. You don't know a lot about IP cameras.
" I am not a guru. I do not have all answers for everything, but I know your unit is faulty," " The unit if showing black screen means something is wrong with it."

If you read my PM and post you would know that it only shows a black screen in the IE Browser. Works fine in Chrome so there is more likely something wrong with the ActiveX extension which the camera software downloads for IE Browser than the hardware.

2. You pump and promote one supplier and camera manufacturer here.
"And yes, I do recommend MARIX if you wanna get VStarcam"

3. You say, "Why I recommend VStarcam .... Its simple plug and play setup and LIVE streaming." But then state that we need to go to a company that charges two or three times more than other venders to get the camera support you need to get a VStarcam to work reliably.

4. You hide behind other names in other parts of the forums.
" I need not use my same nick in diff sector of industries."
So you are probably playing this same "pump and promote game" elsewhere.

5. You say, " My statement for you remains the same "send it back to your supplier to resolve your issue or get an exchange"."
But you still have never answered my question which I think is quite simple. If you installed this T7838WIP and used it enough to write a review, did it indeed work with IE Browser? You wrote a lot of other meaningless information in that post, but did not answer the most simple question. This seems to indicate to me that you do not know whether it works with IE Browser, which means you did not really test the camera in the first place.

6. You say, " Your understanding of harassment is really shallow, if all my female colleagues in my office is as sensitive as you, I'll be in police station daily doing my statement."
Most likely if I had the opportunity to ask your office mates what they feel about someone that laughs at you for asking a simple question and continually says things like, " Too bad. Life goes on." they would have something different to say about you than you might think.

Have a nice day!

Anyone trying to get a T7838WIP to work with IE Browser here is what I discovered. Load your camera into the browser by using VStarcam IP Camera finder or just type in the address and port. Download and install the ActiveX extension. (Note: My virus software Webroot Secure and SuperAnti Spyware find a Trojan in the download so caution.), and you should see the video frame which is black on my IE Browser 9.0.13 -Win 7 - 64 bit. In the right upper corner is the PZT controller with a blue button in the middle. Right click on the button and click "open link in new tab". It opens in a new tab with the video image working. There must be a bug in the ActiveX control or something, but this is a work around.

The only problem I still have with the camera is that when using the VStarecam Super Client software it does not locate the SD card info in Camera Options > Camera Parameters > SD Record and click Get the green wheel just spins and never gets the info. Date/Time and Alarm get info fine. Alarms does not work with Client, but it does with the Browser's.

We would like to assure our customers that the T7838WIP works on Internet Explorer 9.0. Here is a screen capture we had done today.

johnboatcat, you may contact us for tech support if your unit is purchased from us to help you troubleshoot and rectify your unit. Please provide us with your serial number when you call us.

For those with "wrong password" constantly, even when you know that your unit is keyed with the right password, please contact us if you had purchased your unit with us.

Thank you marixsupport. Do your T7838WIP units alarm using Super Client and does Super Client find the SD card info in Camera Options > Camera Parameters > SD Record and click Get? Thanks again!

Does anyone know what happen to my vstarcam h6837wip?

I could view it live but unable to playback recorded file.

Tried to view on the local connection network but it still show up "loading" then fail to get list.

Tried rebooting already.

Is it memory card problem? Can I change to a higher class of memory?

An advance thanks first! :)

Hi all!

I'm planning to get an IP camera to monitor the FDW's handling of my baby daughter.

Read through the 10 most recent pages of this thread. Seems like most of the setup is rather complicated.

Upon googling further, came across the "Iconic IP cameras" @ ICONIC IP Camera

Anyone has tried their products?

My requirements:

(1) Ceiling-mount
(2) Connected via WiFi
(3) Web-access for remote viewing through PC/laptop & mobile phones
(4) Continuous recording (to PC?)
(5) Able to record during the night also
(6) Clear picture & audio recording
(7) Pan/tilt/zoom would be a bonus

Any recommended alternatives, please, for DIY installation?

Check memory card on PC. If can download n playback means camera issue. If cannot means...
