I might just go for cctv - some packages out there go for 1k+ for 4 cams/ mic, pull wires, video box recording, android/iphone viewing, pay more for IR, and no PTZ.

In case if you are keen, Challenger FUNAN got DVR which you can DIY, $599 with 500GB HDD. Saw it when I was there.

It comes with 4 x IR Dome Cameras at 600TVL, 18metre cable should be more than enough for a normal home.

Can view over iphone/android.

Your router or switch must support POE too, you know.

Looking for cam to record. No need real time viewing. Any recommendation?

Record to where? NAS or SD card? You want fixed view or pan and tilt? You want optical zoom or digital zoom only? You want wireless or wired? You want with infra red or no infra red? You want SD or HD?

I just got a unit of Aztech WIP408HD. Setup via wired was fine. Now I tried to do it over wi-fi, doesn't seems to be working. Quite a tech goondu when it comes to port forwarding and stuff. Is forwarding even necessary?

started using my DCS-942L, really impress by it, works great. Viewing on iphone/ipad no problem. Put a wide angle len to it to increase the coverage.

U can try VStarcam's T7837WIP @ Challenger. A HD camera with pan/tilt function. $149 members price.

Can record to MicroSD and play back over mobile APP. Recent Android APP update (Ver3.16) allows you to format the microSD Card over the mobile APP. Easy setup also.

Now looking forward to next week. Got a chance to test the 3xoptical zoom model with same PnP LIVE Streaming.

Any recommendation for wireless IP Camera that support cloud function, so i can view the images from smartphone?

Preferably a smaller footprint of the camera as well.

I'm looking at the D-link options but too many choices.

I don't need the IR option though it would be nice.

The vstarcam T series has bug in the android app for multiple cameras. New version with upgrade fireware improved abit but still crashes with the bug. But support from marix is good.

Now you see why I recommend them? Which bug? Motion detection is much better now, n the format bug was fixed.

Modem - Router - Camera

I just recently got a new router ASUS RT-N56U and the FOSCAM IP Camera FI9821W. I tried following all the instructions to set it up. So I hooked it up, connected the router to my Starhub LINKSYS gateway modem, and connected the camera via WIFI to the router. I did the rest and configured the router port forwarding n DDNS, and tried to access the camera from my smartphone (via 3G) but it doesnt work.
Can someone advise what I might have done wrong or not done? Do I need to configure my LINKSYS modem too? Do I need to disable firewall on both modem n router?
Thanks in advance!
