Hi Gecko,
Yes. Record to micro SD card. No need to turn on PC. Not sure what you mean by Super client. You can playback both the video and audio.

Thanks for info. Many china manufacturer uses iP Camera Super Client as a 32-90 plus channel monitoring system which comes free with all their cameras

I guess what you are trying to say is that some cameras rely on an app/program/software to record the video and audio, as compared to those where the firmware of the camera will handle the recording instead. For example, the Linksys WVC200 does not record video at all but I can use Robert Chou's excellent IP Can Viewer to record the video on my Android phone. What the app does is pick up the video stream and then save it as a video file.

Correct?

Prudie, u can consider vstarcam, try their online demo on their blogspot yourself. I'm using it myself to see my kid throughout the house. Plug n Play setup. Good tech support from marix guys.

You also need to make sure your home network can support remote viewing i.e. you must be on cable or fibre.

ADSL plan needs to b on at least 10mbps plan to have effectively average near 1mbps streaming, but may drop below that too.

Nvr ustd the need popular need for pan/tilt as opposed to see-all ultra wide with a quick glance.
Not like you will have the time to pan/tilt everytime when monitoring remotely.

If I want to use another android app aside from eye4 for VSTARCAM T7838WIP, what host/Ip ad port settings should I key in? It's not in the manual. I'm off site so I cant scan the QR code.

Anyone know where to get dlink 930 ... ? Best price
note that 930 is quite narrow view angle (45degrees) 5mm lens on 1/5"cmos ccd.(vga format only).
But still better than some cheaper foscam of about 30-40d angle.

You can hit a pair for US$90 inc shipping direct ship sg (if u dun want hassle with fwdr, saving US$10).
D Link Wireless N Network Surveillance Camera w iPhone Remote Viewing DSC 930L | eBay

Too bad this was $60 each , few days ago. (720p, 16:9 format, 95d wide)
ZMODO Home Wireless IP Network WiFi 720P HD Security Camera Scan QR Code View | eBay
I am using zmodo series at home/shop/for friends. Are happy with its extensive features, not bad quality and value for money.

Problems with DCS5222L microphone

Help needed! I am using the DCS5222L and it was working fine all along. However, it seems that suddenly the microphone doesn't work any more (it's less than 3 months old) and all I hear when I access the camera is a very loud buzzing sound. Hard reset the camera but the problem remains. Does anyone have any idea on whether there's a way to resolve this? Much appreciated!

If you can send it to Dlink for verification, it will help. Maybe defective microphone or circuit. But allow me to ask this, does changing the location of the camera help? Also the recorded sound is it also bad?

One thing to bear in mind that most IP camera generate quite a bit of heat. The older ones like the DIR-6620G and the WVC2040 can be so hot that you cannot hold the camera with your bare hands.

As a result of the heat, some components like the speakers are likely the first to go. For example two of my DIR-5635, which cost over S$1K each, are giving buzzing sound (like radio static).

Even the power adaptor can overheat. I have some plugs which shows brownish marks, due to the heat from the adaptor which is on 24/7 for months.

P.S. Finally managed to open up and set up the Sineoji PT331V. It has the same OEM as one of the Aztech model as well as the Foscam model.

I guess that could explain why... Not sure if I can do any RMA with D-Link as I can't remember if I had registered the device at all and I don't have the receipt any more...
