Actually, seems tat most China branded IP cam products doesn't seems to last long. But if market wants cheap, then consumers needs to know the downside of it.

My oldest Panasonic IP cam is around 12 years now at least?

some of the newer ones like SP-105 also doing well after 4 years and counting...

I am ok with products with lower price points if they are proven or seem to be good i will give it a try...but if there is a proven product which cost more...im ok to pay for it...cos if you factor in the product experience...better firmware software...usability...longer lasting...its worth it...better than replacing the camera every 1-2years...having to pay, find a technician...ok im a lazy non hard ware DIY person...

iCamPRO looks interesting with tracking, but question is how far to what extend. Good to have cloud storage to google drive. Alot of taiwan brand already upload to cloud storage. But storage is only 32gb on local. Could b more. Have smb support to Nas. Tilt looks limited at 20 degree.

Anyone got hands on with it? Its a 2mb camera.

vstarcam only can use IE for all functions. Other browser only can see VGA

hmm.. i used vstarcam on Chrome. I login via the actual direct camera web management page (not the lame ieye4 or etc page). Don't know if that is what you meant.

Anyway I have changed all my vstarcam camera to Foscam. Working much better with excellent viewing angles + the charging port actually uses micro-usb (same as your android phones) - i used my lying around multi-usb charger to power all 4 of it.

its more of power supplied to base station, then wired connected via LAN cable to all the cams. So base station gets its power still from plug n maybe a built in battery to standby in an event of power failure

Hi I have purchased D-Link DSC 5222L IP Camera , but there is no power source available at the intended place ( Nearest power source is around 5m away). What are the options available in this case..?
One option which i found is, using DC Extension cable( found some on Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QJBYAM8?psc=1 ).

1.Where do i get these DC Power Extension cables in Singapore ?
2. Is there any other option to extend the cable ?

Thanks

Hi Mine is
Connectors: 5.5x2.1mm Barrel Male, 5.5x2.1mm Barrel Female.

can i get this 5.5x2.1mm ? what is this POE ?

Most consumers won't have it.

let me put it bluntly, using power via ethernet from your switch/router (if its capable)

The 5222L is not a PoE capable camera anyway.
