always do that
but when roll around or stand up, the heel of the shoe will accidentally scuff against the legs.

heart pain~

Bubble wrap your office furniture or learn from office OL wear slippers in office!

Seriously.. just have to be more careful but that anyways applies regardless if you wear "good" shoes or not.

End of the day you wear the shoes and don't let the shoes "wear you" instead.

This is important to always remember.
Some shoe maintenance is fine. But we shouldn't need to overly fuss over our clothes and shoes.

Need advice from expert here regarding shoe care as i just got my first pair of full grain leather shoes.

After some reading up, I'm buying horsehair brush, applicator brush, saphir renovator, saphir cream polish. Is wax polish necessary? Any other things that i need?

Also I'm intending to buy from http://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/ is there other cheaper alternative?

Hello, I would like to order from there as well. If you would like to share shipment, please check inbox.

Hi all, if i can squeeze 1 finger into back of the shoe, how much can i downsize by?

If i can squeeze 2 fingers, how much to downsize by? Does anyone has an estimate?

Depends on which finger, how large your finger(s) is/are and how hard you try to squeeze?

Seriously, depends on the type of shoe (loafer, oxford, derby) and ultimately the fit of the entire shoe which only you know yourself, although 2 fingers does sound like u are most likely not taking the right size and probably would experience heel slip.

I read somewhere along this thread that half a size is 4mm ish. my finger is like 1.5cm. Isnt this close to 4 half sizes?!?! :s8:

I don't think there's an estimate, and the best thing you(and most of us, really)can do is to get your size down through trial and error. The "finger test" can't determine the width of your toes or your instep.

I would advise this as well. Finger width is way too subjective and sizing is about more than just length.

That being said ....

Just pulled the damn trigger on those bloody Tärnsjö chukkas.
Sigh....
I don't know why I do this to myself.

From the GMTO selections, does feel like apron derby is the new on-trend shoes, which I believe the shoe snob mentioned before..

it so happen that it is the exact design i'm eyeing.. was considering the norwegian shoes by carmina, now at almost half the price for meermin i might just get the meermin instead.

Skoak been coming out with a number of split toe derbies with the various brands too, Enzo la, Carlos santos la

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 3 using GAGT

Not seeing many around town though. Seeing more double monks these days though.. which, also according to shoe snob, is so passé..

Looks like we are laggards in SG when it comes to men's dress shoes, with the exception of you guys here!

care to share before i take a dive? much appreciated!

When I first started out on this shoe journey, I tried out some meermins.
2 were linea maestro. 3 were from their standard line.
Across the board, the leather was deplorable. Felt like cardboard. With one of the LM pairs showing prominent creasing, being from non optimal parts of the hide being used.
Dry, stiff, lifeless.
The last sizing was also inconsistent between pairs. Same last, same size, all oxfords, each felt different.
Visible finishing problems on one of the linea maestro pairs as well.
Sole edge finish all over the uppers.
Horrible break in period.

Eventually sold them all.
And good riddance.

Definitely the worst shoes I've ever worn.
Even deleted them off my IG to get rid of the bad memories.

Made in China, understandably.
