When you've worn down the original sole, the only solution is to change sole.

Topy can help reduce wear but usually people don't topy on danite.

Just helped someone replace a worn out topy for $20, drop me a PM here or on carousell (pulloutnow) for more info

To those that have shoes from ed et al how does the leather hold?
I went by and checked out some loafers a couple of weeks ago and It seems like they would show significant wear quite quickly.

I guess for that price range it is to be expected but my cheapo shoes from a department store here seemed in much better condition than their sizing shoes and I have worn mine for 3-4x a wk for 4months. So unsure on if ed et al is even worth it.

Depending on your batch.. I have one from about 5 years back and they're tough as nails.

Except for creases, mine still looks fine.

For me, they crease pretty bad.. but they have been holding up fine. couple of pairs about 3 years old on average from their viet factory.

Since we're on the topic of EEA. Called them up and waiting time is about 8 weeks for MTO now. Do they still do it in Vietnam?

Also, wondering if anyone would be able to compare Between EEA and LLYR in terms of value for money?

anyone know if the shoe sizing chart for pediwear is accurate?
https://www.pediwear.co.uk/chart.php

I see its US size 9 to UK size 8.5
I thought normally its US size 9 to UK size 8?

I don't want to order already than the shoe too big/small for me...:(
Best is to follow EUR size. IIRC the difference is due to how different manufacturers round off the measurements to convert the shoe sizes.

UK=US-1 are for running shoes.

For dress shoes, I am US10, majority of my UK shoes are 9.5 (except 1xUK9 and 1xUK10, last dependant)

So I would say Pediwear is not wrong.

What shoe you plan to order? If it is your first pair, most will suggest u goto Metro or Robinson to try on a pair of Loake Capital Last first. Then easier to ask for reference for other brands.

want to buy the loake 1880 aldwych
I tried going robinsons, metro, john little, all cannot find loake 1880 leh.

want to buy liao before my current pair of shoes give way.

U don't need to find Loake 1880. Their non 1880 range also has model in capital last. Do a search in this thread. Someone mentioned the model before.

Alternatively, goto a sports shop and measure your feet with a brannock device.

thanks mate no matter what, just can't find it. not just loake 1880, the whole loake brand went into hiding already.

Loake Aldwych is a good starter shoe. I still love mine.

Yes, i think i was poisoned by you guys.

Do you recommend to put on a vibram sole to protect the sole? im thinking to do so because of the wet weather. any idea if there is glued to the sole or nailed or what else?

There are 2 groups of folks. I belong to the group who prefers the leather not to be topied.
Some prefer to have the topy done. No wrong or right.

I topy mine but i will recommend that you try the leather sole first and if you think you cannot handle it then get it topy. it is glued.
