Any opinions on the following brands' of loafers to consider? Am considering more of choice 1 & 2 which is below $300.

1. Bass weejun
2. Herring loafers

3. Colehann
4. Meermin

IIRC I dont think even think EEA makes cordovan for MTO. So probably calf.

You will know when you wear it. Calf creases, Cordovan rolls.

Go google for how they look (the traits I mentioned), if you require more reference

Ed does have horween cordovan for their MTO.

I think if the buyer doesn't even know whether is shell or not, it probably is not. This is not thrifting, no one would unknowingly pay the price premium if they don't know about it.

I bought the one with neutral color, really blur any how buy!

Cordovan absorbs differently from calf so the cream is formulated for it. Like striker says sell lo and buy new one.

Dun get neutral get the exact colour. Neutral later ur creases come out white white lol

And don't forget to read the product label before you buy

Thank you ... I bought neutral because my shoes are all not he usual black or brown. One is grey blue and one is blue. I afraid the color not matching lagi worst !

Should I go back to Ed to ask them for advise on the polish cream ? Do they sell ?

They have a blucher in shell on display so I'd think they're able to do it in any of their current shoes.

Last I heard (probably about a year back) they carry both japanese and horween cordovan. The price differential between the two is understandably great.

Go Tangs la, they got the range there. Use card rebate can get discount somemore.

What back knob? You're using the epic twin tube type or the ball and spring?

If the former (and sized properly) insert fully as per normal.

If the latter, go buy the former.

Anyone who has Meermin's Black calf oxford, that scratches the leather and leave a mark very easily when you're polishing/cleaning etc. I had to keep brushing away to make it faint

Beautiful pair and patina. If you're confident enough, 1 saphir navy + 1 saphir neutral/reno should be enough. Pure Navy for the burnishing and brogue stain than mix the Navy with Neutral/Reno (maybe 1 part 4) for the rest of the shoe.

And yes believe it is calf. Lacks the luxurious tonal depth of cordovan leather and if my eyes don't fool me, there is a visible crease on the right pair.
