I had my fair share of local brand shoes. I giving up on them. They are not built to last and pricing is way too high for something of that quality.

I hope your EEA didn't fall apart! What do you not like about them?

Are Marxb shoes cemented? It might explain why they fell apart. The recommendation for quality shoes seem to veer towards welted shoes.

Well I going to get it Vibram first. I wore it on carpet floor and the size fitting is atrocious. With that particular model I think I had to downgrade from usual UK7.5 for loake to 6.5. The comfort level is no where near to my loake1880. And its more exp than my loake.349😥

I think they are(Marxb) I wonder why do they priced so high or even higher when they are not even near to england made shoes.

I really thought of supporting local brands, but they are not for the idea of me supporting them by providing such quality shoes.

I think discounting your Marx B experience, you give should your EEA one more chance.

I have both Loake 1880s and EEA and I personally find that the EEA are the ones I favour despite having an atrocious break-in and a last that is a little too narrow for my liking.

The leather isn't soft by any means but feels thick and sturdy. The shoe seems to be better constructed IMO. QC overall looks better as well.

How long have you worn your EEAs? I've gone more than 2 months to break it in but after which found them to be delightful. Perhaps you might consider putting sole protectors on them after breaking them in more first?

Well. EEA are better as compared to Marxb. I RMB the breaking in for loake was horrible for me. At least two three months alternating between another pair. For EEA I did not need to break in. Maybe after I Vibram it I'll try again

I wouldn't be too concerned about the sizing numbers itself since you can try out the sizes locally. How well the shoe actually fits is more important. I agree the break in duration for EEA shoes are lengthy. In fact, I think some of my EEAs are not completely broken in yet.

LLYR Entry level are $297, while Ed are $349, correct? If u are willing to spend a bit more, get Loake 1880 range calf leather shoes online from robinsonshoes. Slightly more than $360 after discount and free delivery. The Loake leather are soft and ages well.

Ed previous collection creases badly. The current 6th collection still too new to be judged.

First timer here, unable to try on a shoe prior to buying is scary.
Can I trace my feet, then email to robinson to get their opinion on the correct size to order? How to get discount? The current price is 179 pounds, coming up to just under S$400

Some SF users reported doing that in Meermin's earlier days successfully. You can try. But speaking as someone who has queried them earlier this year about sizing, the biggest stumbling block would be trying to decipher the google translated english.
Darn, I read that it was difficult to communicate with them in English. Did you purchase any in the end? I have wide feet and would like to find the size and last that will suit me

Trace your feet outline and measure the length and width. Then let them know these measurements to enquire on the recommended sizing

Tonnes of people selling meermin shoes locally on carousell, just look for the ones with your nike sneaker US size - 1 to get the UK size and try them out in person.

Pretty sure the seller wouldn't mind letting you do that, pretty sure you'll hit one pair that suits after trying out 5 pairs in person :D

Still a lot lah, a search for Meermin returns at least 10 pairs.

That said, I'll probably go for the Carminas at the price carousellers are offloading theirs (not the cordovan ones of course, the current seller seemed to have bought one pair from another at 400 and trying to flip it at 700+ now) at if I were you provided the size fits, esp now that there's a retail shop for you to try them on. No point wasting time on Meermin to be honest.

Has anyone heard or seen about this product called 'Shoe Goo' in Singapore? It's basically an adhesive that you apply onto the worn off portions of your heel and it solidifies and covers up the worn off portion, extending the life of your shoe. Been trying to find it locally, but no luck
