ouch. rohbinsonshoes just informed me that the loake strand i ordered is OOS. Thinking of switching over to burgundy (original color was mahogany) or just switching to the loake cannon.

1) wondering if anyone had any nice burgundy belts to recommend
2) shiro do you have any pictures of your cannon???

many thanks in advance!

Imho burgundy is so much nicer and more versatile.

fwiw, burgundy colour is only avail for strand afaik amongst the loake 1880 dress shoes.

If they give u cannon at same price n that's what u prefer, y not take advantage??

Strand burgundy color is damn pretty! (I would have get that, but I thought I will be a 1 shoe guy so I got black for my 1st pair. And 2 months later I bought my 2nd pair of loake...)

You can try equus leather belt, best value for full grain leather, bespoke. Just that waiting time is long, normally they tell you 1 month, but will become 2 months. Both time I bought from them also like that. But value is unbeatable.

My Loake Cannon haven't arrive, Robinsons shoes takes too long to process sometimes. 7-10 days to send out, another 7-10 days shipping.

I am assuming that they don't do loafers and derbys

Hi guys, new on here. I'm looking to get my hands on a Loake Churchill and would appreciate some advice:

1) I wear a Ed Et Al size 8 Outram. The Churchill is in the Swing last and G fit, which apparently is one of their wider fits. Should I get a 8 or 7.5?

2) Looks like most of you have been getting Loakes from Robinsonsshoes instead of herringshoes.co.uk. Any reason for that, other than pricing?

Thanks

1) I wear a Ed Et Al size 42 Outram. The Churchill is in the Swing last and G fit, which apparently is one of their wider fits. Should I get a 8 or 7.5?

Robinsons has free shipping but it takes very long.

Herring will give you a tin of wax polish and a decent quality shoe horn though. Very fast shipping.

Thanks for the info. Herringshoes gives the wax polish and shoe horn for Loake shoes too? Do I need a discount code for that?

Robinson every month will have 15-20% discount. For Loake 1880 range, even after the discount, still qualify for free shipping and no GST.

Herring doesn't have frequent discount, less their own Herring brand (which u can also try, good value for money). Shipping by DHL, extra 20 UKP. Plus DHL will bill u GST + $20 admin fee if total price including shipping is more than S$400.

Eg Churchill without discount is UKP 180. Add UKP20 for shipping, total more than S$400 liao. GST and $20 admin charges waiting for u when touch down SG.

So now I buy Loake and Barker from Robinson, Herring from Herring.

ps : I also have a pair of Loake Churchill. The G width is very wide, will have loose space even for my F width foot.
