The obvious choice is enzo. Their chelsea boots are even wholecut.

I can't believe EEA charges 3000 for that crap. Their outsoles for bespoke aren't even hand stitched.

You can almost go jap bespoke at that price, if you know where to look.

Looks like have to go MTO route for Enzo..

I think hiroyanagi charge around that price.. Others slightly more.

right size, wrong fit i guess.. breaking in is PITA, felt like i was wearing clogs :s22:
Meermin leather is really hard, now exiled to my storeroom

Indeed Meermin's leather is hard, since Jan 16, I am breaking in my Oxford with Hiro(??) last, still I feel the stiffness of the leather. Luckily, they recommended 1/2 size bigger due to my width of feet. If I took the right size for snug fitting, I will be also retiring the shoe. I am unsure my next pair with Meermin should I stick to their recommendation or my usual size. Very painful la.

Vass cordovan is about 10-15% cheaper than Carmina depending on your sources

But while handwelted, may have some production liberties, since each craftsman basically otot.

Cant beat the colour range of Carmina's cordovan selection though. Clicking wise I think Carmina is even superior

Hey bro, are there any store in sg which offers vass? Thanks.

Got local distri. Holdfast Fine

They have some RTW stock that is priced very reasonably.

But if you do MTO then that's where most of their cut comes in so would be pretty hefty and may not be cheaper than Carminas.

If you're looking for cordovan dont think they have rtw stocks.

Pre set/Guide creases with a pencil

Wear and walk about for 10 mins to settle crease

Condition and brush the heck out of the flex areas.

That's my shortcut if it helps

Haha what abt 42.5? I wear 43.5 myself in case you think I'm trolling.

My goodness how long have you been wearing your shoes for and who the hell told you it will take 2-3yrs to break in? Visit a cobbler to stretch the damn shoe for goodness sake.

Sent from the exploded Death Star using GAGT

Meermin well know for stiff leather. If i only wear once a week, i think i take yrs. cannot be wearing everyday esp if that day i need to be comfortable and i meed to rest my blister too

I read up a discussion on styleforum, you can actually accelerate the time for breaking in. Use a metal stick, press down on where you want the creases to be and flex the shoe accordingly.

I found that it helps to retain the aesthetics of the shoe and also prevent the creases from forming on weird areas leading to rubbing on other parts of the upper part of your foot.

My meermins are still stiff as ever but the parts where the blisters were at do not hurt anymore. Could be due to a thicker layer of skin forming over, but i like to think that this method helped at least a little?

The ankle heel part cant be helped tho. Thick socks and plaster!

Am sorry. I was actually the one who organised that gmto.
My initial thought was calf / scotch grain. But eventually went with suede due to another participant's preference.
