Just got these Enzos back from resole. First time resoling a pair so didn't know what to expect, and I just got a chance to take a close look at them cause putting on the laces for wear tomorrow.. Man. With the exception of the upper, everything else looks absolutely brand new. Considering it had to be shipped 2 ways... I'm kinda impressed.

Nice! How much you spent and how long was the wait? Resole done at Enzo?

Ehh can't remember exactly, 200+, yeah sent back to Enzo via Seamless Bespoke

Quoted wait time was 4 months, but from my passing them my shoes, I waited exactly 2.5 months

You wear your Enzo so hard that they wear off so fast?

They were my most worn pair previously, and I probably do more walking than most I guess. But yeah I decided to opt for vibrams this time cause of that also

Anyone got herring shoes lately? They having sale now. My clarks shoe is already 3years at least. I always like clarks coz they insole is comfortable. Not like those brand Aldo or Ecco where their insole is hard.

Tot should I go for herring since its UK man as compare to Clarks

If you think Aldo and ECCO insoles are hard you should probably not be looking at any UK shoes. I'm sorry but it's really the truth.

At the same time, please also consider that soft insoles do not always mean comfortable shoes.

Lol.. I don't mean soft insoles are comfortable. I just don't like hard insole. They are not good for the feet.

Soft insoles are those like Hush puppies and they are the worst. Wear for max 3-4 months the insole goes "flat"

I personally feel good insole are those that are spongy. Maybe I'm just been fussy :D:D

You're not fussy you just haven't experienced good leather insoles/shoes.

Can't change your mind until you're willing to spend significantly more on shoes.

If you are referring in general to dress leather shoes (e.g formal oxfords/derby/wingtips/loafers etc) then Herring would probably also fall under what you categorize as a "hard insole" in that the insole is leather and have little or no cushioning and they are definitely not "spongy".

In fact, the lower end of Herring's leather shoes are really stiff out of the box, there is not much flex until you've worn them in. Benefits of of a leather insole is that they would mould to your feet with wear and they do provide a more lasting support as compared to the soft gel/cushioned insoles you refer to as being "spongy".
