Need some advise from the experts on Loake shoes, wondering if someone from this forum can help me before I email them...

Own a pair of Loake Severn (using the 026 Last) which I being using for some years now but somehow fell out of love with it in recent years as I somehow now feel that it is not "pointy" enough. Being reading this thread and thought of ordering a another pair online but want to ask the experts if the Churchill (Swing Last) or the Cannon/Buckingham (Capital Last) are more pointy? Also, those model are of a F fitting... my current sizing for Severn is size 10 but is of a wider G fitting; does that mean I need to get a 1/2 size larger if the Last is of a narrower fitting?

Appreciate any advices :)

This is the most epic post in a long time. Brutal but honest opinion.

But I am afraid there is some misunderstanding, there is no snobbery around. The reference of DW as a joke is due to someone going over to the tailoring threads and saying people who bespoke their clothes are having ego issues, thus leading to a retort.

Besides this, the post is so epic I give my

Look for Dorchester in the Mayfair last. Those are more pointy.

isit cheap or expensive?

dont mind me, what is that used for? which step is it used in the shoe polishing process?

To me, it's a leather conditioner. But then again, I was looking for this based on a recommendation from PetiaC, so it's better to direct your questions to him.

It's expensive to me because I was looking for a conditioner priced around 10 bucks. I guess it is actually normal price compared to other conditioners, but I'm on a budget.

I found on qoo10 search for penny loafers. Seller is prompt and reliable. Leather upper and rubber sole. Dun believe what they say about goodyear welting or handstitch is put together with glue. Watch out for the fit. Korean sizing is have longer and slimmer feet. Quality wise I think at this price point can't find even correct grain upper in retail.

Let's just drop the topic of DW, shall we? Someone already tried to promote DW here long before this 'flood of hate'.

No misunderstanding or snobbery. AFAIK, it all started with a self-disparaging joke about having to eat grass or maggi mee after buying shoes. Ppl here just need to chill.

So it was all my fault. No wonder they say sarcasm is lost on the interweb

BTW, I saw Pedag leather lotion selling at $14.90 at Robinsons. Seriously wtf.

To me it functions almost the same as cream. Nourish before polish. So I compare by price and volume of the cheapest TRG cream is better value.

Let me know if u ordering lexol. Maybe can MO here

It is advertised as not leaving any residue, but many ppl say it makes leather sticky. Dunno who to believe.

Doesn't matter as you going to polish over it anyway? Or have to use sparingly and allow time to dry, or else will feel sticky?

I cant get any refund since i have to pay upon ordering 6 weeks ago. Now you guys made me feel like a fool for getting DW becos its only worth one-fifth of its price.

Misunderstanding? Maybe some parts, but not all of it. Deep inside your heart, dont you feel that people who go to tailor have a bit of ego issues? Otherwise, with your type of figure, any RTW shirts will still fit you real nice. From the pics you are neither oversized or undersized. In fact you look slimmer than me. I still have a bit of tummy so cant wear too tight fit.

As for the DW shoes, i asked to have my left shoe made wider due to a corn on one of the left toe. And my foot one side longer than the other. The shoes may look a tad funny, so not too convenient to post it here and then get lots of insulting remarks again. My ego has been badly hurt. I have duly learnt my lesson here. Just shut up dont tok too much or get gunned down. One man cannot defeat a whole army. Im not Superman or Rambo.

By the way where can i get Loake 1880?

Not you either. Basically you are a nice guy.

So you are back to sour this thread? The way I see it, after the joke about having to eat Maggie mee, someone starting scolding everyone for buying 'expensive' shoes.

The strangest thing is that it was unprovoked. Almost like the actions of that guy who pushed the old lady off the bus.

Maybe that guy who pushed the old lady off the bus had a bad day.

Bitter it might be, but i can differentiate who are the snobs now and who are not, just got to ignore the snobs and sourly accept the fact that there are people who are just purely obssessed about tailoring and shoes. Cant change their minds at all. All i can do was to put across a different idea.

I guess after my DW gets wilted in 6 months time, i will just have to find BATA shoes to fill my shoes needs. Being an ignorant lazy fool, maybe those quality shoes dont suit my lifestyle of not taking care of shoes.
