One thing for sure, they are certainly very good looking boots. Going for an MTO? I think u ought to get the best colour/materila combination to your preference

I'm looking at a calf/grain combo. Something like these : Edward Green Galway | Unipair

Mink suede/dark oak is another good combination but the calf/grain seems to be the most versatile(and sedate).

I like suede upper with calf lower. Softness of suede at the ankles and more protected from the elements (ridiculous as it sounds. Protecting the shoes from elements and not vice versa, calf bottom to allow polish shine at the toe cap n heel.

Aiyo. Somehow I feel that the "is it too much to ask for both" gif is very appropriate here. You're right about the durability of suede - it is much stronger and more durable than most people give it credit for, you don't really have to baby it. Grain is very hardy as well though.

Well the wait time varies drastically. The one or two times when they actually had stock I received my shoes in the same week that I ordered. It probably would have been shorter than 2 months if I rushed them, but I wasn't in a hurry so I happily waited for them to contact me.

I've really abused this pair and I think they've taken it quite well. Started off much lighter than in the picture but I've brushed it down with all sorts of weird polish(dark brown, burgundy, blue, neutral).
