Hi

not that I am aware. Try PLAL in KL or Pediwear in UK. The latter could be a gd bet given the current weak pound

thanks a lot for the quick reply, mate.

I am actually traveling to KL soon, maybe I will drop by the physical store, better to try the shoes on and get a good fitting pair, I guess.

mate, it's not been firmed up yet, I guess I need to go and try on first.

I've been buying pedro shoes, tired of it, nothing fancy.

I read from SF that C&J shoes are pretty good, would love to get a pair.

I ordered a dark brown Weymouth (a whole-cut oxford). It's at the post office now (I was not at home when the delivery was made). Looking forward to it.

Sure, will try to do so as soon as possible.

ps: Personally, I find Pedro shoes to be on rather low end of the value curve (i.e. quality over price). I never owned any, but been to the shop several times to look at the shoes. What have been your experience? I would encourage to consider Loake or Herring on sale or seconds (shoes with a slight defects) if one's budget is about SGD150.

Pedro shoes can be found at 40 bucks during a sale.. With proper care it can last for 2 years. My friends & i agreed that the only problem is that the sole erodes too quickly(ie: 6 months). Any idea where to resole shoes in sg?

Hi purple

I only done resoling once. It was at a Mister Mint outlet. Any Mister Mint outlet or equivalent should offer such a service. Be expected to pay upwards of $50, I think. My personal sense is not too worthwhile to do resoling for any shoes costing less than $150 (paying one-third of the original cost to resole a pair of shoes seems to me about the max I would go).

There doesn't seem to be resoling services in Singapore to handle the more sophiscated construction like welted sole etc.

Hi there, 1/3 the price of the original seems to be a good benchmark :D May i know about the quality of the resoling service.. Do they replace with leather/rubber soles?
Seems we don't have competent cobblers in SG to handle goodyear welts.. Bt there must be a way for those sg forumers in SF to resole their shoes... ...

mine eroded after 1 mth
Completely eroded? U walked on acid or smth? :s7:

I can't speak much about quality of resoling having only done it once. I think it is between so-so to "cannot make it".

What I now do is to attach a rubber sole to the leather sole. Helps make my shoes less slippery too.

my shoes also have a leather sole, how do you know that it's time to resole?
By putting a rubber sole, won't it become chunkier? How much it cost?

So glad to find this thread :s12:

I just bought my first pair of Church's. I love them.

I am thinking of getting another pair. C&J maybe.

Just wondering, for those who own these shoes, how do you get them resoled?

The Church's shop at Ion provides shipping service back to Northhampton to get it resole.

For other shoes such as Loake, C&J, etc, how do get the same service? I don't think the local cobblers will do the good shoe justice.
