Hi

Does this require any hardware? if it does need hardware, that means it can't be installed on an android tv box?

Yes it does require tv tuner hardware but not suitable for andriod device.Most andriod device use IPTV with m3u8 playlist:s12:

Seems qoo10 has a seller for rk3288 measly box S$145 including postage. Seems quite reasonable.

This seems good as well as it embedded with powerful quad-core GPU ---Mali-T764,is the highest level GPU among ARM Mali series,It has the top graphic processing capability.

And custom Rom wise will take some time to develop.

Can your box be used to view live CNN, BBC, CNBC and EPL? I have a 2 year old androud tv box but seems like cannot work as of last week to watch CNN BBC

You can try install IPTV repo on page #51 as for EPL you can use Navi-X look for sport tv Hd channel choose test channel it work for Epl yesterday match.
