I m on singtel fibre, therefore will need the vpn. I try googling,seem like for the vpn will need extra subscription, right?

Btw, is iptv and xbmc the same or they r diiferent things? Got more confused frm reading the different threads.

If singtel you need vpn & there are many vpn provider available.Iptv is a repo & Xbmc is a software(Media centre).You can read XBMC | Open Source Home Theatre Software for more detail.

Look for andriod box which have good developer support on the firmware.You can browse geekbuying or Q10 for selected model & budget.For Bpl/Champion League you can use Xbmc Navi-X for live streaming....for live shows you use youku tv xbmc apps.

There are too many andriod box available in the market right now.Almost every 3month new product will be launch.Suggest to do more research & review of each product that suit you best because is difficult to determine which is the best.

So far i have try & tested a few andriod box like minix,m8,mele,tronsmart,xioami gen 2 all have different function & interface.And all depend on your usage like streaming or games.I suggest go for latest 4K Andriod box with 1080p native graphic card if you are using LED 1080p Hd tv or 4K tv.The graphic is more sharper & clearer depending on streaming content.

Mine is just a normal full hd lcd tv... Anyway i need it to stream live bpl football from astro or fox... Also live tv from taiwan mainly... and movie channels (hbo, fox movies, 衛視電影 etc)

Since your usage majority on live streaming get those box with 300 preset channel streaming such as football,hbo,fox & more.You can browse in HWZ marketplace in electronics section.Saw 2 different branding on sale.

I just tried to install XBMC successfully on my Xiaomi MiBox (latest 4k ver). Used Snappea on PC and installed XBMC direct to box. Managed to add fusion and of course 1channel & icefilms.

However, no image appears, only audio.

In Settings>Video>Acceleration, I already disabled 'Acceleration using MediaCodec." Apparently this was a tip that worked for me in previous other Android boxes.

Any idea why I'm missing image?

I suggest you uninstalled the official XBMC version because it dont work with Amlogic processor.You need the Amlogic version XBMC.Will pm you the download link & once installed you enable the armcodec only in the video acceleration

Usually i re-installed back all the add-ons after upgrade to a newer version or you can use the Add-on installer from the Xbmchub.

What is the Xbmc version you currently installed & your box spec/model?what the error message?

Can try this download & place into your usb thumb drive.And install direct from usb drive from your xbmc>system>Add-on>install from zip file.

1. But problem still persists. I even tried enabling all 3 options one at a time.
No image, just audio.

2. I tried re-using the original ARM version from the xbmc source. Turned off all acceleration. And it works perfectly.

Ok great just monitor your streaming with the original Arm xbmc version.By disable the hardware decoding codec it will tend to have slow motion/choppy video playback at time.The latest kodi xbmc 14 should have resolved it as they now compatible with the S802 chipset.
