Anybody has battery issue after the latest MIUI update? I find my phone (13) battery has higher consumption after the update. TIA

I just ordered a Xiaomi 13 Ultra 16 + 512 phone for $1025 after vouchers. Hope to take better photos to keep good memories.

Quick question.

I'm not able to use Google in China.

Can Singpass be used on China Xiaomi sets?

Am thinking of getting a new Xiaomi phone but have yet to decide which model.

congrats. does that includes ultra photography kit?

No. Only the handphone itself. The camera kit will be too bulky and adds on to the cost. I have a Sony RX100 series camera for more serious photography.

Hope u are happy with China set.

The camera will not disappoint

Yes, I'm okay with China ROM since my K50 Ultra is also on China ROM.

Yes for my Redmi K50 Ultra and some Xiaomi 13 Ultra owners here.

However, there is a mention here that SingPass has some issues with Xiaomi 14 Pro: https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/xiaomi-14-pro.6907377/page-3#post-150271880. Hence, I suspect HyperOS is not tuned for Android apps and could be China-specific in future.

SingPass is a critical app to me. I'm not taking the risk and therefore, I bought Xiaomi 13 Ultra instead as it is proven for local Android apps, is slightly cheaper, and has more powerful cameras.

So Xiaomi 13 Ultra China set has no issue with local (Singpass eg) or Google based apps?

I checked through the thread twice and there were no issues mentioned, except Android Auto. I don't use that so it is fine for me.

I will be very upset if I buy a $1k+ phone and some critical apps cannot work after an update either of the HyperOS or the app itself.

shopee?

I am eyeing this phone but my huawei p30p is still going strong.

Yes, Shopee. From the same seller who sold me the POCO F3 and K50 Ultra. His price was the best this morning.

My K50 Ultra is also going very strong, but I want to take more photos now to keep the good memories. I upgraded my Google Drive and now it can store a lot of photos.

Google Photos will curate fond memories into a montage and I find that I like to view them very much. So I want to take higher quality photos from now and view them when I grow older.

sounds like a good idea. If you delete photos from Gallery rather than Pixel on your phone, the photos will still stay in Google Drive right?

Yes. They are still in the cloud even if the local phone copy gets deleted.

What happens when you remove photos & videos from your phone

If you remove copies of photos and videos on your Android device, they're now deleted but, you still can:
  • See your photos and videos, including the ones you just removed, in the Google Photos app and photos.google.com.
  • Edit, share, delete, and manage anything in your Google Photos library.
