How's nova launcher on the xm15u? Does it work properly?

Working but can’t use gesture control. Will have the 3 android buttons (home, back, action)

Yeah wanted to use Nova with gestures but it goes back to regular Xiaomi thereafter.

My WD Black NVME works well via USB C with Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Good news, means I can use a file hub to transfer and decant files from memory cards into NVME drives on the go.

Previously my Pixel 7 Pro cannot read NVMEs , only non NVME SSD via USB-C, had to rely on IPAD PRO instead for file transfer using hub.

So far using nova launcher is fine. Just like using nova launcher on any Samsung.

Based on my usage, the 15U is still learning on battery life. I'm just happy my 120w charger drives it back to 100% very fast. My Xiaomi hypercharge power bank is also working out great. Very fast charging.
I hope after 2 weeks it can match my iPhone 16 pro max battery life.

Does the HyperOS have something that creates an avatar (or AR Emoji) of yourself as the lock screen? Samsung used to have this, I think....

Also, there's a section in Settings on Xiaomi HyperAI. But looks more hype than anything. The AI subtitle has to be toggled in settings and added as an app. I can't even find the rest of it....

Regret ordering from Shopee... ordered on Sun but phone just arrived in SG... not sure if I can get it tomorrow or have to wait until Monday already...

Plus, they don't have the $1 option anymore for the photography kit. Customer service ask me to provide them ID after my phone arrive =.=

That means 2 more weeks to get the photography kit.

Just had a HyperOS update. Some Alive Design Philosopy, gallery desktop calendar clock and animation, sounds mainly cosmetic.

Today's lunch. Almost useable using auto mode at 23mm ( better than my previous P7P which forces weird vignetting and radial spiky blurs at periphery )

The clarity at the point of focus is acceptable on a 43inch 4k display, but may need to play with manual settings to get better pics.

It does not overzealously push shadows and highlights into the midtone which my old Pixel and esp my waifu's fruit phone are guilty of. Shadows and highlights give form and dimensionality, so this is a plus. Too much midtone and photo becomes flat and overly hdr-ed.

Unable to control aperture unfortunately so it is literally shooting 1 inch sensor with a large aperture. I was hoping there could be a focus stacking mode for deeper dof but dun have.

23mm 50MP 1 inch sensor at f1.63 aperture , the DOF would be similar to around f4 on Full frame.

I suspect using the 70mm 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor 1 / 2.51 inch f1.8 aperture which gives an equivalent DOF of >f10 could be a better focal length to use for that shot.
