Anyway, managed to set English via 沙发管家. Now is partial english and chinese throughout the UI. Not too bad for me as I am still able to read some chinese.

Initially I tried to root using Shuame. Root failed however it managed to install the USB driver for my Mi Box to the PC.

So I just uninstall the app after that and follow this guide to root my mi box.

The 4K version does not come with RJ45 connection, you need a USB to RJ45 adaptor to utilise ethernet connection however you gotta make sure you get the right adaptor.

Feedback from others that their adaptor didn't work. For me, it limits the speed to 50mbps, wireless AC is faster at 100mbps for me.

What's the Internet plan you're on?

Mine is plug n play, if you also need to use the USB port for other device like Bluetooth dongle or USB flash drive then you may also need OTG adaptor to use the micro-usb port.

Then you need the proper USB->Ethernet adaptor that works and able to support maximum speed. Mine runs at 50mbps only so I stopped using it and changed to wifi instead.

You have to use another launcher to change the language to English.

The stock launcher does not allow you to change it to English.

Install XH Home TV launcher to change the language, after that you can get rid of that launcher if you don't like it.

Not sure what yr exact requirements are. But kodi works fine for me. At least for icefilms which I watch everyday. On basic Starhub 200Mbs.

How did you manage to install the USB driver for Mi Box to the PC? Where can I download the driver.? The link on ROOTING is very difficult for me to follow. Does anyone offer services to root this device in Singapore and what are the charges?

I just got my mibox last fri.

However i am so new to it and not too sure how to use it. So far i can only play low quality videos from youtube.

There is this icntv that has many movies but when i try to play it, it will say certificate expire.

Streaming is extremely bad. I am able to detect full bar wifi on my HP and laptop but for the mibox only 1 bar. And the devices are just beside each other.

Kinda disappointed.
