I just got my mibox last fri.

However i am so new to it and not too sure how to use it. So far i can only play low quality videos from youtube.

There is this icntv that has many movies but when i try to play it, it will say certificate expire.

Streaming is extremely bad. I am able to detect full bar wifi on my HP and laptop but for the mibox only 1 bar. And the devices are just beside each other.

Kinda disappointed.

How did you managed to get YouTube on it? Just curious because you said you're new to it and not sure how to use it.

Most of these streaming sites are on China server so it's not always good unless you have a China VPN connection.

How did you manage to install the USB driver for Mi Box to the PC? Where can I download the driver.? The link on ROOTING is very difficult for me to follow. Does anyone offer services to root this device in Singapore and what are the charges?

1 - enable ADB/USB debugging from mi box settings
2 - connect Mi Box to PC
3 - ignore the windows driver installation as it will fail because it cannot detect driver for mi box.
4 - install Shuame on your PC and use that to install Mi Box USB driver on your PC, don't have to go through the root process using Shuame because I believe it will fail but no harm trying if you want to, maybe they updated something.
5 - if rooting in step 3 fail, use this guide to root. I don't understand chinese however google translate in chrome works good enough for me to understand the steps.

6a - prepare micro SD card and format as FAT32
6b - download the root archive from that article or HERE(English Version)
6d - insert micro sd card into mi box and connect to PC via USB
6e - run the file "小米盒子增强版ROOT工具III.bat" or "mibox3GEN_root_en.bat" for the ENG version to start root process

if root successful, mi box will be installed with SuperSu app and you can use that to verify root.

bro, you're right, it indeed came in 1GB ram when it came, did a quick check with official mi china website, theirs is also 1GB version now.

I ordered from Lazada MiBox3 4K, it also came with this MiBox2 internals. Luckily i found out on my 7th day of receiving, able to do return with Lazada.

I just bought a xiaomi box, feel the speed is fantastic. I buy AC Ryan media player before. I feel xiaomi worth the price, and the video is very smooth, it is very easy to use. Please take note that the original set might not be sufficient, you may need to buy few additional cables. I bought two additional cable.

From what I understand they use the same name for the 4K version Mibox2 - not sure why though.

From what I read, there's no such thing as Mi Box 3.

The actual term is Mi Box, Mi Box Pro and Mi Box Pro Enhanced version and the enhanced version is supposed to be the upgrade of the Mi Box Pro hence the same model.

Yes but a little tricky, requires root.

yes, it took a while to ship from HK.

I'm sure they will put it back on Lazada once they restock. same thing happened when I bought it previously.

Mibox(1gb 4k ver) vs TMALL box (天猫魔盒）

First impressions is that MIUI interface is slightly better then YUNOs. Side loaded apps appear as icons on MIUI directly but not in YunOs. YunOs needs to useShafa desktop to show side loaded apps
Specs wise TMALL box is better and side loading of apps is less restricted.default settings of YunOs allows for sideloading apps without any setting changes necessary.
TMALL box has rj45 port which Mibox (ver avail now) doesn't have.

Not latest. It's only 2nd gen. Try to cancel the order if you can.

does the tvbox support streaming video to wifi devices e.g. hp,tablets,etc?

Hi all,

I have a screensaver problem with the Gen 3 box. While playing in Kodi, screensaver kept appearing after 10 minutes or so.

Funny thing is I don't have that problem with the Gen 2 box.

Is anyone having the same problem and has solution to it?
