Look for an app called snappea install on pc.you can google for youtube tutorials on how to use snappea.

Hi fellow xiaomi box owners!

[question] Does anyone use TVMC app (a.k.a TV Add-ons = a custom package using XBMC gotham and preinstalled video add-ons)?

When I play movies or TV shows from Genesis / Icefilms /1Channel (whatever the sources chosen like 180upload, movreel, VK,...) the playback is interrupted every say 10 minutes especially in the evening and a stupid picture then another picture (advertisement) is displayed asking you to press up or down to like it or not, and if press down it displays 不喜欢的图不出现咯!
This is really annoying and I didn't find in Internet any answer to what it is due or or to get rid of these interruptions.
=?> Anybody experiencing this too with TVMC?
=?> Is there the same with XBMC Gotham?

Nothing to do with TVMC.

It is a firmware bug. xiaomi's firmware cannot detect that the movies is running, and the screen saver kicks in.

The way to go around the problem is to turn off the screen saver.

The easiest way is to use a thumbdrive.

Can also use xiaomi's remote install if you are able to navigate thru the confusing menu.

You also can use shafa market to do remote install. Tutorials are in shafa's website www.shafa.com

In fact, now checking on the downloads within the Shafa, it shows the download is stalled. On latest version of Shafa 4.1.2.

GG and see spec. If you cannot tell the different, then may be it is not important to you. Most android box specs are now a day more than sufficient for streaming the show. You might want to consider the one with larger storage as the OS itself occupied a lot of space. Most people will add Kodi app with lots of add-on and it will need some space for caching. Otherwise it might not run properly, e.g. black screen and only sound. USB port problem can be solved by adding USB hub. If you need the port for thumdrive, then just use remote feature in ES file manager and you can transfer file directly from pc to the box, vice versa. If budget is not the problem, I think 3rd gen might be better. That what I got for myself. The 4th gen need to plug directly onto the power point. I don't really like the idea.

Try using web browser to search for ES file manager, install, go to the left menu, Remote Manager, Turn on.

Go to your pc, start file manager, type ftp://_____ according to what said on the mibox screen. Now you can freely transfer file back and fort between the box and the pc. Don't even need to plug or unplug. Life is much easier
