Try going to shafa market and download the apks 电视必备, thereafter You can reload the youku and tudou XL. It works for my player.

Think Xiaomi has partnered with some local or region media content provider to provide content on its Mi Box, but I suppose it to be heavily regulated by MDA..

remote control and firmware problem

Hi bros,
just got a mibox enhanced edition(non-jailbreak) from qoo10 on Sunday.

1. The OK button on the remote control does not seem to be working properly. Most of the times have to press around 10 times before the box can sense the OK press. The other buttons are quite okay. Is this a hardware issue or a firmware bug? Anyone seen before?

2. I tried to update the firmware last night. Existing version was 1.3.44. The box sense that the latest was 1.3.53, but after trying to connect for 10min, it says fail to update.
This morning, I tried the update again, and the box says 1.3.44 is the latest version available

Any kind souls out there can shed some light?

currently loaded with iCNTV but looking to add on more channels/stuff. i have read that it requires jailbreaking aka rooting to install snappea, is that right? Can anyone point me to an up to date guide to do that?

any do/dont's with this device? (Dont update or do update type of tips)

Guys, I m considering getting a mibox... But I saw in JP..got 1 booth selling mele box. Should be model M9. And it shows that got English interface and even youku is accessible. Everything is all installed nicely as well. Was wondering is it worth it?
