Hi bros,
just got a mibox enhanced edition(non-jailbreak) from qoo10 on Sunday.

1. The OK button on the remote control does not seem to be working properly. Most of the times have to press around 10 times before the box can sense the OK press. The other buttons are quite okay. Is this a hardware issue or a firmware bug? Anyone seen before?

Any kind souls out there can shed some light?

Are you pointing at the remote or TV? Remote requires line of sight, no make sure nothing blocks between remote and mibox. Or else it could be faulty battery, try changing it. Costs less than 2 dollars. If still not working, ask seller to replace.

1. Unstable connection is related to your provider 98% of the time.

2. If you do not know what root is. You do not need it.

2. I tried to update the firmware last night. Existing version was 1.3.44. The box sense that the latest was 1.3.53, but after trying to connect for 10min, it says fail to update.
This morning, I tried the update again, and the box says 1.3.44 is the latest version available:s22:

Any kind souls out there can shed some light?

Latest is 1.3.53. I upgrade on Wed and it's running fine with all my google play store apps like Toggle, youtube, BBC iPlayer, iTV, FB, tuneIn, Pandora and huhu

Based on my understanding, the Mibox does not support Google Play Store thus the reason why we are all talking about alternatives. In fact, most of the Chinese Android devices do not support native Google as its blocked in China.

This translates to why we are discouraged from buying phones from China.

You still can install and play apps from Google Play Store. I jailbreak my Xiaomi to install a few google play store apps like, huhu, pandora, toggle, youtube, FB, iTV, BBC iPlayer....

Hi Xiaomi TV box users (specifically 3rd Gen):

1. I see sellers @ Qoo10 selling those box. And they charge like SGD5 for free dramas, $10 for english version, $5 for this and that.

My question, can this be done on our own without having to pay those charges ?

2. Let say it's possible for #1, can it be done with other brand of Chinese made boxes as well (e.g. Neo X8-H) ?

Thanks

1. Yes you can do it yourself if you know how to start the XiaoMi in main page.

2. Yes, if all running on Android... All same la
